  • Good sound, good quality
Size: Bundle w/ Gig Bag Color: Black
Got this for my son who’s been playing guitar for about 3 years. He’s young so didn’t want to spend alot on something that might get scratched up. I was pleasantly surprised! It came quickly and was in perfect condition. The hard case was definitely with the extra. It’s sturdy. . The sound on this guitar is nice too. Overall we are really pleased! ... show more

  • Great guitar for a beginner or taking camping/ RVing
Size: Bundle w/ Hard Case Color: Black
Is it a Martin or an Ovation? No. It is exactly what it looks like. A fairly cheaply made (but seemingly well made) guitar for beginners. Tone quality, not great but serviceable. I replaced the strings with my own favorites but the strings provided were fender strings and would work for a beginner. Arrived undamaged and semi-playable out of the box with a little tuning. Holds tune well considering price. The built in tuner isn't anything to write home about but works and makes traveling with this guitar easier. Case fits snug, and has been fairly durable thus far. If you are looking for a beginner guitar with everything you need in one package, this is for you. If you already play guitar well, this is a good addition to the collection when you don't want your nice guitar out near the fire drinking/camping with friends. (that is what I use this for) ... show more

  • Great Guitar for all players
Size: Bundle w/ Hard Case Color: Black
I went with Fender because of the name, but this guitar is perfect for me. I just started playing (seriously) and the sound is great. The quality and price make it worth every penny. Also the black is nice!

  • Great starter acoustic guitar, but gig bag is too small.
If you are new to playing guitar or just love playing acoustic, Fender offers this good deal. Normally, Fender sells cheap guitars under the Squire brand, but this is a Fender. For a Fender this certainly was a bargain, as you no doubt you've seen a lot of their other guitars and seen how expensive they are. This here is a diamond in the rock. So why should you get this guitar? Acoustic guitars are great for their bright, unaltered sounds. While resonator guitars (sometimes called "Dobros") offer acoustic distortion (even with out any electric components) and electric and base guitars could send players down a rabbit hole of buying all sorts of accessories (pedals, amps, etc.), sometimes its just good to play something simple without any extras. Anyone who is committed to learning and playing guitar should own at least one acoustic. Let it be this guitar. It should be noted that the body of this guitar is rather thick. Maybe it's because I'm more used to playing electric guitar. However, it is worth it considering Fender does offer a couple of modern features on this acoustic like a guitar tuner in the side of the body and a mic jack to plug the guitar into a PA system. I keep forgetting this is an acoustic-electric guitar namely because I've used it more of its acoustic features not its electric features. Honestly, I like having an acoustic with a cut away, especially if you like to play "unplugged" and reach those higher frets. (Note: when we mean "higher", we mean "closer to the sound hole" because closer to the nut creates lower notes on each string.) This kit comes with a lot of good things. Picks, a spare set of strings (note that these are Fender's 80/20 bronze light strings which have a 12 to 52 gauge; 80% copper, 20% zinc), a guitar strap (good news, there's a couple of buttons on the body where you can hook up the strap, but consider adding a set of Guitar Saver strap locks to preserve the strap's button holes from wear and tear), a DVD copy of Austin Bazaar's guitar essentials DVD, and a free trial to Fender Play. But here's what does not come with the kit. It does not come with a capo (I would suggest the metal ones made by Shubb rather than the cheap clothespin looking things that Amazon has been hawking). It does not come with a guitar stand (which you should definitely get if you want to set it somewhere), and it doesn't come with a humidity pack (this guitar is made of spruce, if you have low humidity, there's a chance it could crack!), it doesn't come with cleaning supplies (even a microfiber cloth would do well to clean the strings), and the gig bag it comes with DOESN'T FIT. The gig bag is too short for this guitar. (I guess that explains why this guitar is being sold so cheap.) But there are better gig bags than this one (Cahaya makes some good ones), and if you plan on long term storage, you should get a hard case. The bottom line: I would definitely buy this guitar again. It's not perfect. Fender and Austin Bazaar (who is selling this package) both did a great job of putting together a decent starter kit. Both of these are some well recognized names in the musical instrument market. But that gig bag was awful. Fortunately, you can find a better gig bag or hard case at a decent price. ... show more

  • Nice Bundle!
Size: Bundle w/ Hard Case Color: Black
This is my second guitar, my first being an Epiphone LP purchased 1.5 months ago. So I don't really have a lot of experience with guitars yet. But I am pretty impressed with this bundle. The guitar is very nice looking, as well as the case. The strap is decent, an actual Fender logo is on the strap. The case is made by GearLux, and appears to be decently made. Extra set of strings is nice. Though going from 9's on my electric to these 12's I can tell the difference. For the guitar itself, it looks amazing! The tuners feel decent, and speaking of tuners I do like the electronic tuner function, while I can tune the guitar to itself, that's not as accurate for my ear yet. The bass, volume and treble knobs are small, but fairly easy to turn. The Fender Play class was for 14 days, which they have those deals all the time, so not impressed with that. I also have not watched the DVD yet, I would have to plug in a DVD player to my PC to do that. The seller also included a 1/4" guitar cable. It doesn't feel that high quality - but if you get an amp too, or have an amp you're all set. ... show more

  • Perfect for Beginners ! Fender Rocks
I gifted this to my nephew for his graduation. All I know is that he loves this set because he called me right away after he got it and was telling me how much he really wanted a Fender but never thought he would get one. He started with an old beat up guitar from a yard sale so this is a total upgrade . I don’t know much about guitars but I think it looks beautiful, has everything to get you started , a learning CD , strap, case, picks, extra strings and what he freaked out over the most is that he can convert this from acoustic to electric. ... show more
