I got mine several years ago and am carrying a Stratacoustic rather than an Acoustasonic in it. I'd read that I'd need to mod it because the Stratcoustic is a little thicker. This was true, I had to modify the styrofoam when I first got it. The very first trip I checked it and the corners of the case got cracked, which was disappointing. But the cracks have not grown since that first trip. I've since flown cross country, Europe, Central America, and Canada and this case has protected my guitar so far. I also mostly try to bring it with me in the cabin rather than checking it, it fits in the Stewardesses dress closet on planes that have them and also fits in at least one planes overhead bins but I don't remember which type plane that was. Other than the cracks first time used, I'm now pretty happy with it. ... show more

Do not make the mistake of thinking a Fender Stratacoustic model will fit inside this case. The case upper portion lid has a buffer (visible in the interior photo) which will interfere with closing the case

When a body hugging ST case didn't fit (Acoustasonic is slightly larger than an electronic Stratocaster), this case leveled-up the stand-by rectangular case made to fit most guitars. We appreciate the fact that the velcro strap utilized by the aforementioned rectangular case to hold the neck in place wasn't necessary because the recessed body area custom fits the Acoustasonic body like a glove working in conjunction with the channel created to cradle the neck. We're unsure why one would purchase this to fit a Fender "Stratacoustic" when the listing doesn't include that model. 🤔 Nevertheless, we also appreciate the larger storage area as everything needed with a few extras fit comfortably with room to spare. The addition of TSA latches are greatly appreciated for obvious reasons, although local transport to/from sessions/gigs will be the primary role. A few more interior colors would have been nice in the 21st century, however, it wasn't a deal-breaker. The wider footprint blocks keep the case more stable than the standard half-circled studs found on many cases. We observed the handle is cushioned and more comfortable than most molded versions. The fit and finish of the entire case reflects the quality of an OEM Fender case designed to fit this specific model and gives us substantial peace of mind.
