This is a serious guitar! The pick ups and electronics alone are worth the price of the guitar, once you set the action and tremolo look out! I play this through a EVH 5150 iii 50 watt 2x12 combo and it sounds INCREDIBLE!! The guitar sounds great through all my amps but a higher end amp is what this guitar was designed for. I am a working musician 40 years plus and play all styles of music, and this baby fits in everywhere. The Seymour pickups deliver, with the guitar and my amp(one or two pedals, delay, wah) it just sings! You have to set it up to your liking and let the trem springs stretch(trem only set to go down) but after that it's on. It cuts through the mix and reacts with your touch. All my friends ask me to let them play it, and spent all kinds of money on a super strat and I still have tone for days!! I'd recommend this guitar to anyone, a winner. ... show more

Ordené ésta guitarra pero me llegó dañada del mástil, aparentemente fué inspeccionada antes de que el producto saliera del almacén pero no sé percataron del daño que tenía (está quebrada) pedí el reemplazo del producto porque la guitarra es muy buena y única en su estilo. Bottom line up front- I contacted Fender and Amazon regarding these issues. Problem isn't completely solved, but we are well on our way. Pros: 1. I love Fenders and this one plays and sounds amazing. My last Fender is a Mexican Telecaster, which had better quality than my American Eric Clapton Strat. Not so in this case. Cons: 1. Guitar was not set up. At all. The card with tech and QA signatures was there, but they clearly pencil-whipped it. 2. Fretboard first fret has a finishing issue as you can see from the photos. It plays normal, sounds normal, but looks crappy. Fender is (should be) better than this. 3. Locking nut plate was installed incorrectly- perhaps proof that QA didn't really inspec this particular guitar. 4. Pick guard has dents and chips on the bottom almost like someone tried prying it up with a screw driver. Only options from Amazon was a 20% refund and keep the guitar, or return the guitar for a complete refund. There were no replacement options available. I chose the discount and will pursue the rest through Fender with their warranty program. Again, most of this is cosmetic, but it's still a brand new guitar (a FENDER) and should not have these issues right out of the box. ... show more

This guitar is just awesome. I normally play a Gibson Les Paul or acoustic western guitars. This guitar is much lighter and feels much faster to play. It came perfectly tuned. The sound is absolutely great with these pickups. Dave Murray should be very proud of this - among his other accomplishments of course. ... show more

The model is beautiful but needed a lot of love when it showed up. The 5 way selector switch is faulty and I had to order a new one to install immediately. Also small stuff but the fretboard was in severe need of oil and polish and there are a few screws missing from the pickguard. The model itself is great with Floyd and compound radius neck but the repairs could ve very costly if I were not able to do the work myself. ... show more

We're talking about a guitar the Dave Murray himself spoke in an interview about how during the trial stage with fender asked for his guitar tech Colin Price to put it on his backstage rack with other main axes and had mistakely grabbed it for one song and didn't notice the difference with the real model. This guitar was made with customized electronics and pick ups with the same quality as Dave's personal Strat and for personal request he asked fender Design Team to manufacture in Mexico cuz' he wanted to be affordable. Great quality, looks really nice. 4 stars due to a really hard set-up floyd rose, but since I get it from Sam Ash used last owner could be the problem although it was in mint condition. ... show more

    • Great guitar with the options that a fender gives

The media could not be loaded. Great guitar with good finishings. The action is low and perfect for comping or solos. I used with his original strings and I have not done any change in the settings but it plays perfectly.

Nice Guitar but not worth anything near the $1,200 price tag. Made in Mexico, metal is very cheap and tremolo is WAY to stiff, had to remove a spring
