Bought for my teenage daughter. She loves it. I played it and it's got a nice resonating sound. I liked it a lot better than some of the other lower end guitars. Strings aren't the softest but perfect for a beginner to learn finger strength. Also wasy to change if you want to but definitely don't need to. I love that it comes with a hard case that she can take to school with her and keep the guitar from being beat up. She already tried to shut it in the car door once so hard case was definitely a plus for me. The first week it had a hard time staying in tune like all guitars but after tuning daily for a month it's holding it's tune really well. This is a GREAT value for anyone. The guitar has nice warm tones, beautiful balance and light weight. I'm sure there are many other guitars that fall into this category, but for me it's just fine. Complete package with Fender lightweight carrying case, strap, extra strings and three Fender picks. You'll spend more on McD's happy meals in the next year than you will for this guitar package, The meals will be gone but you'll still be playing your Fender guitar for years. ... show more

I've always wanted to learn to play the guitar. One of my biggest stumbling blocks is time to learnand the cost of a guitar. I made the decision that 15 minutes a day practicing asking with a 30 minute class per week wasn't that much of a stretch and with this guitar cost on Amazon was the deciding factors. I purchased the guitar and received it in good time packaged well. After tuning it using the Fender tuning app I was all set. I have tried the Fender website for the free 30 day trial that I found was actually 15 days to be of no value for me. Instead I purchased a book called the Skeptical Guitarist volume 1, recommended by my guitar teacher. I've also tried YouTube but those videos have been little too no help as they go to fast and/or I'm too slow of a learner. The strings are metal and as such are hard to play at the beginning as I had no calluses at the time. That has since resolved and I'm slowly working to playing the guitar albeit slowly. The sounds that come from the guitar when I'm playing it correctly are good, the construction of the instrument is awesome. I look forward to becoming more proficient very soon. ... show more

I bought this on amazon warehouse saving around $150 off the normal price as it was not 100% PERFECT (are they ever at that sort of discount)? hehe I am super happy, I cleaned up and repolished the guitar and laquered it and it is like brand new now I am SUPER SUPER HAPPY with this guitar ( I would say I am intermediate on guitar although people say I play like pink floyd and they are looking forward to my album later in 2022 ) So the CD60SCE Fender 12 string ... as an experienced guitar player for 30 + years on and off and I have played in bands in the 1990s across the UK ..... my verdict ... THIS IS A SUPERB GUITAR and up there with the $500 to $1000 price range since they all seem to have hardwood top BUT LAMINATE sides and back until you reach $1000 + I do not understand why the "guitar reviews and videos online" put this guitar down as a BEGINNERS GUITAR ... Definitely NOT THAT. If you want an OUTSTANDING 12 string guitar that is EXCELLENT VALUE when bought cheaper than retail ( because it has a PLASTIC NUT and BRACE) ....... Snatch one up whilst they are available AND when the plastic wears down OR when you have changed your strings multiple times over several years .. THEN just simply buy a high end BONE NUT and BONE BRACE for a few dollars and them fitted professionally ... now you have a guitar of the SAME SPECIFICATIONS are guitars between $600 and $1000. To me, this is a KEEPER and I will keep it in my music home studio until the day I die, I see no reason to ever part with it unless I make millions from selling music, then I will donate it signed to a charity that needs the money for a REAL purpose. ... show more

Sounds pretty good for a less expensive guitar. It has decent electronics too. BUT the strings were too high off the frets to play it comfortably. I happen to be a long time guitar player and know how to adjust this problem. I tightened the truss rod which helped some but I also had to sand the bottom of the bridge to get it comfortable to play. So if you buy this guitar plan on spending an additional $100 to get it set up properly at a guitar shop. It does play and sound very well after the adjustments. ... show more

I looked at all the options in this price range and am very happy with the purchase, with no regrets. I am a novice, but appreciate quality and have purchased a number of guitars with many lessons learned. Here are my observations: - Solid Top. Make sure you compare that with others in this price range. - Made in Indonesia, not China. Many think guitar manufacturing is superior in Indonesia (then Korea and then Japan being premium) - Easy to play. My test is whether I can fit all three of my fat fingers within the 2nd fret to play an A chord. I then see if I can easily play barre chords with no buzz and light pressure - it was easy. I played every fret and there was no buzzing or high frets. -There were no sharp frets. Frets were well polished. - Fishman pickups/tuner - awesome. No loose wires etc. The Fishman has a subtle rubbery texture, which was an unexpected quality bonus. - Packing - the only weak point. It was single boxed, but I did not experience any damage. - Brand - it matters and you won't feel like you have a cheap off-brand. I am totally psyched with this purchase.
