The only issues I have is they put a stick on the scratch guard and it won't come off easily..its got a buzz on the A string third fret that I hope gets better the more I play. I've been after a particular sound — and have tried so many acoustics in the past several months. Some honorable mentions are: Yamaha FG830, Epiphone DR100, Orangewood Oliver Mahogany or Spruce... but this Fender is my favorite. It's the perfect balance between tone, resonance and volume. Perfectly loud for its size, sustains forever, nice and bright, but not too bright like the Yamaha. Nice construction, not a single flaw anywhere. Hard to believe you could have scored one of these for as little as 129 about nine months ago. Even 199 is a bargain. This one has that sound I was looking for — it's a keeper. ... show more

I am an adult beginner and wanted a full sized guitar. I wanted a more comfortable shape and size. I quickly realized the common dreadnought would not be a comfortable fit for me. A family member recommended three decent beginner brands and Fender was one of those. I'm very happy with the guitar. BUY a quality strap as the one this comes with sadly is awful- I got my first ding in the guitar after only a week because the strap twisted off one end. I like the medium Fender picks it came with. I've tried others since, but may stick with the Fender medium for a while. The guitar stays in tune well for a beginner guitar. The case is thin, but I don't care about that. It covers it as needed, but I'm leaving it sitting out. I want it out and read that it is better for beginners to keep it out so it's easy to just pick up and play to get in the habit of frequently playing. If I keep at this and get an upgrade then I'll worry about humidity etc. So, guitar- perfect for beginner, picks -perfect, strap-sucks, case- will do. Buy a good strap. Oh, and it comes with extra strings and needed tools. Great buy! ... show more

This was my first ever guitar purchase. Even after purchasing a few other more expensive models down the line, this one is still played quite often. Very playable and the sound is decent. Certainly not a Martin 2 grand sound, but a decent sound nonetheless. This is the guitar I sit around and noodle with.
