  • My first real amp!!!
Style: 65 Twin Reverb Configuration: Amp Only
This turned out to be a wonderful investment because I never knew playing guitar could be so much fun until I got this cool amp. It really looks cool leaning my Strat up against it so I never put the guitar back in it's case anymore. What can I say, it just really brings out all the sonic possibilities in a Fender guitar, has tons of headroom, and makes your playing sound and feel more legit. It's a little pricey when bought new, but I don't regret it one bit and will probably keep it for life. ... show more

  • Act like you’re responsible for helping.
Style: 65 Twin Reverb Configuration: Amp Only
I’ve only wanted one of these since I was 16. Survival has its benefits. I gave it 4 for versatility, because it really doesn’t do fuzz. But you can buy all kinds of fuzz pedals. It gets a 1 for light weight, ‘cuz it’s wicked heavy. I give it 5 for value because it delivers the authentic sounds heard on countless recordings. If you survive long enough you should own one. ... show more

It is very expensive. However, it is iconic and one of the best amps ever made. It is not light, but awesome.

After one year of use in different venues the Fender 65 Twin Reverb is exactly what I wanted. Downside is the weight, but thats what dolly's are made for. Excellent buy.

  • Great sound but too big for most uses.
Style: 65 Twin Reverb Configuration: Amp Only
I sold a Fender hot rod deluxe and bought this 12 years ago. I also have a Marshall dsl401. The Fender sounds great but is really too big and powerful for most uses. I find myself using the Marhshall because it is so much easier to transport and crank up to the sweet spot without blowing everyone away. In hindsight I probably would have bought the deluxe reverb instead. It has the same/similar sound but less weight and watts. If you need the power for unmiked gigs then you cannot go wrong, just know that in most situations you will not be able to crank this to its sweet spot. If you do get it, pull out the V1 or V2 tube for the channel you do not use. The circuit leaks the signal between the channels resulting in some loss. Removing the unused channel's tube will stop the leak and will improve an already great tone. ... show more
