  • Fantastic gimbal. Useful features!
I needed an upgraded gimbal for a project and after a lot of research settled on the FeiyuTech SCORP 2. It was a good choice! The AI tracking features are really useful, I strongly suggest reading about them if you're considering this gimbal. The whole device is quick to set up and customize and is quiet and feels good in the hand and stable. It's not too heavy but feels solid. The interface and touchscreen are nice too. Battery life is good too! It's also compatible with a pretty wide range of cameras. Recommended! ... show more

  • Great stabilization, feels solid, easy to use
The media could not be loaded. This is my fourth gimbal (OK, maybe I have a bit of a problem with buying too much gear ... but hey, I like toys!). I started with a Crane M2S, which didn't handle my camera very well. I then got an iSteady M6 with an add-on AI tracker to use for my phone, which worked great. I upgraded my main gimbal to a Weebil 3S, which worked really well, but didn't have an AI tracker ... and finally, I've moved to this. This is going to sound nuts, because every other review is talking about all of the high-tech features this thing has (and they really are great), but the real game-changer for me is something very old-fashioned: the built-in kickstand. WHAT A FANTASTIC FEATURE, so cheap and simple to implement, that completely changes the experience. I don't have to attach a tripod to set it on a table, I can just flip out the feet and set it down. WHY don't more gimbals have this?! I know you're all like "C, it's a $300 gimbal, we don't care about the $5 plastic feet" ... but you should. It's amazing to have, and one of the reasons that this gimbal will probably be the one that ends up in my bag from here on out -- I don't like having to leave a mini tripod attached to my gimbal just so that I can set it down. Having said that, this thing also nails all of the gimbal functionality as well (which I fully expect for $300). All of the stabilization modes work fine, it has the requisite joystick invert settings (I'm one of "those" people that like my vertical tilt inverted), and it's unflappable in the face of wild motion. In the video I posted you can see my hand literally shaking, because it took my 3 or 4 shots and I was getting pretty tired from single-handing it, and it was still keeping the camera steady with aplomb. The touch screen is a nice touch (har, har, har), and makes using it easier, although I'd recommend a quick browse through the manual to understand the layout of the menus. Balancing was well documented and I nailed it the first time, no complaints there. The locks work well, the slides all have plenty of range, and it was on the "good" end of the gimbals I've had in terms of balancing and assembly ease ... from a mechanical perspective, it's very well thought-out. Speaking of documentation, the manual is written in clear and good English ... I've had some of these products where you could tell that the docs were written by people who speak English as a second language, but that wasn't the case here. The included box has a nice foam insert that everything fits into. After getting the (admittedly fancy) bag with the Weebill that is HUGE, I appreciate the compactness of this gimbal and how easy it is to take along. Frankly, I'd rather have the box/foam included with this than the massive bag included with the weebil just because it's easier to tote along ... the obvious downside being that you'll need a separate bag for your camera (which you no doubt already have). I love this thing. If you buy one, I'm sure you will too. ... show more

  • Great for Beginners and Pros
I decided to start my journey as a videographer earlier this year, so I was eager to find tools to elevate my filming experience and help me capture smooth, professional-looking footage. Therefore, the first thing on my list to purchase was a gimbal and after doing some research, the FeiyuTech SCORP 2 Gimbal stood out for me to test my newly purchased Fujifilm XH2S. The gimbal was shipped utilizing the double box method to ensure safe delivery and the original box was wrapped tightly. The photos show everything that came with it once unboxed. I was originally concerned about ordering because I did not know if the instructions would be in English; however, one of the photos shows that the user manual offers instructions in 7 different languages. From the moment I unboxed the SCORP 2, I was impressed by its sleek design and solid construction. It feels like a premium piece of equipment, which boosted my confidence instantly in its performance. It came with the gimbal main body, tripod, fixed plate slider, sliding arm, quick-release plate, camera backing base, and a tiny bag for all the attachment accessories. Before using the gimbal, you can scan inside the user manual to download FeiyuTech’s app. To log in, you have to enter an email address and the app allows you to watch all the videos for using the gimbal. It took me some time to figure out how to balance the gimbal since this was my first time, but the tutorial videos helped a ton. Also, one thing I wanted to point out is that there are adjustable red dots on the sliding arms and mounts to help you know where you last set your camera to avoid having to always figure out where you set it last when balancing it. Once I started filming, I was blown away by the SCORP 2's stabilization capabilities. Even though I still had to practice my heel-to-toe walk while shooting, the gimbal captured silky-smooth sequences that made my previous footage compared to my current footage look miles apart in terms of quality because the gimbal kept my shots steady and professional-looking. What truly impressed me about the SCORP 2 was the variety of shooting modes that helped add an extra layer of creativity to my filmmaking attempts because it uses an auto-tracking feature where all you have to do is make the “OK” hand sign to turn it on and off! Despite being a beginner, I was able to use it with ease and everyone who saw me using it kept asking me how was my camera following me automatically. The battery life was another pleasant surprise because I used it to shoot an event that lasted for more than 8 hours. Even with on and off use, by the end of the event, I still had about 63% battery left! In summary, there are still a lot of features I need to learn how to use, but after using the FeiyuTech SCORP 2 gimbal for the first time, I regret waiting so long to purchase one! As a beginner, it has empowered me to capture smooth, professional-quality footage that I never thought possible. If you are an aspiring videographer looking to take your filmmaking to the next level, look no further! ... show more
