My wife and I have a really beautiful blue SUV, in fact the color was probably the reason my wife wanted it. It’s getting some age on it now and being a daily driver it has lost some of its luster. I’ve tried ceramic polish and while it did help it left that white residue all over. So when I saw this colored polish I just had to try it. The polish applies easy and buffs of fairly easy as well. The blue in the polish did a lot for small shallow scratches. I guess it’s the color in the polish that made the difference and really brought the finish back to a luster. Review of: **Formula 1 Color Car Wax Spray, High Performance Formula, Fills Minor Car Scratches, Restore & Protect Red Cars, UV-Stable Pigment Car Detailing Wax w/Polishing Compound Car Cleaning Supplies, 23 oz** SiO2 detailing sprays are all the rage these days and for good reason - they work very well, especially on an auto paint surface that is in good condition. I have three late model vehicles with ceramic coatings and exclusively use ceramic detailing sprays on them with excellent results. This Formula 1 Color Wax Spray seems to be a little confused in what it calls itself. Wax and ceramic (or SiO2) sprays are NOT the same thing, and this product seems to be purely a ceramic spray, not a "ceramic wax", which, as far as I can tell, is not a real thing. I can forgive the marketing speak here however, as I suspect that is why they chose to refer to it in this way. For performance, I have used this product on an older model (1986) Porsche in Guards Red with very mediocre results. The red pigment added to this spray does seem to help fill really minor scratches, but the overall performance of the product as a ceramic detailing spray was not the best I have seen. It doesn't wipe into the paint surface and dry as well as other products, where you just lightly buff it off afterwards. This takes a bit more time and buffing to eliminate the haze. Longevity is decent but nothing unusual. Depending on whether your car sits in the sun or gets a lot of water or dust on it, you may need to re-coat with this each week or maybe a little longer. My suggestion would be if you have a car in one of the colors offered, and you have minor scratches that you would like to make less noticeable, give this a try. But you may want to test against a bottle of a regular ceramic detailing spray (do half of the hood with one product and the other half with the other) and see if you notice a significant difference. I found that some of my other sprays left a slightly slicker surface than this Formula 1 brand, but the slight benefits of the added colorant may make this a good choice. I'm a car guy and I like to keep my vehicles in good shape and looking their best. Restorative waxes can play a big role in this, especially on cars with a few miles under the belt. One of my cars is bright red and despite being a few years old, still has a great finish. That said, there are a few small dings in the paint and some faint swirl left, I think, by the previous owner using a less than pristine polishing cloth. I noticed my car had picked up a light scratch on the passenger door, probably caused by another car door touching it in a parking lot. That was the ideal opportunity to give this product a try. I gave the scratch a preliminary polish with some cutting compound and then used this product to finish. The product is essentially a ceramic based coating polish tinted to complement the color range of your vehicle. The match doesn't have to be perfect. The product will work across a range of shades in the same general hue. In my case that would be red, but other colors are available to match your vehicle. I found that by applying the polish onto a clean cloth and rubbing it into the scratch in different ways: up and down the scratch length, side to side and also in a circular motion, I was eventually able to make the scratch all but visibly disappear. Once I'd completed the spot polish, I sprayed the remainder of the door panel and brought it to a shine using a microfiber cloth as recommended. I saw a definite improvement in the perception of visual swirl in the paint finish. The car is currently garaged for most of the winter but I can't wait to get it out in spring for a full detail using this product. The product may seem expensive compared to other polishes but remember it is a restorative so can probably be used over time alternating with other waxes and detailers. No product of this kind can truly "fix" deep scratching and swirl but, carefully applied, it can make a positive difference. Once applied the product promises long-term protection against water and UV light damage. I wash and detail my car pretty frequently and will be sure to include this in my regimen.
