My carry pack blocks the view

I’m still giving a five but I’m not able to use it. Man I really wanted to love this camera for my Lectric bike. My problem is because I use a carry pack on the back of my bike. Because the camera mounts on the pole under the seat the camera can’t get a view of the street behind me since my carry pack blocks it. Getting rid of my carry pack is not an option since I love it to store my gloves and it’s insulated so I also carry bottles of water a towel, hand sanitizer and a mesh bug net to use if I need it. I guess I will have to just get bigger mirrors unless my hubby can figure a way to securely mount it on the back rack pole under my carry pack. Update: I’m thinking about keeping it. I was able to mount it behind my Carey pack. I need to take a few rides to see how it works. I don’t want to use the straps to attach to the bars because my bike is the kind that lets me collapse it down to easily put it in my SUV so I’m concerned strapping the wires down might interfere. I have to figure it out before the return window closes. Final update: I kept it and love it. I had to rig it so it fit behind my pack on the back of my bike. So far it works great.

Was a little troubling to install but was able to get it.

I just want to say that this is a very nice little camera for just a few dollars more than the price of mirrors. I had to use some tape on the camera cable ( mounting along the bike frame) and I also had to make a shim for it to fit on my rear rack because I know I am going to get a bag for the rear rack so I do not want it to be mounted to the seat bar. I had to arrange the cable from the camera to the video screen just right in order for it to reach without pulling on it to tightly when I turn the handle bars left or right. Going to the seat you have plenty of cable but going to the rear rack you may come up short and have to rearrange where you put the camera. The picture quality is good, even in the sun light. I do like this and as far as longevity I am not able to say because I have just bought it and only used it once. But for now I say 5 stars for picture and being able to see what is behind me in a nice wide angle view. I would like to add that I have not used the night vision because I do not plan to ride in the dark and hopefully never need it but it is nice to know it is there.

I built myself an electric scooter to get around town on, It is much lighter and easier to use than factory made scooters. I used an 26 inch cruiser frame with 20 inch wheels to give me the low center of gravity of an BMX with a frame the does not have my knees in the air. The frame is rigid so I got a suspension seat post to smooth out the ride, so using the seat post was not an option but it does fine mounting the the rear rack. Pro's and Cons. Pro: It is easy to install. They give you plenty of cord. Nice display screen. image it quiet clear. Cons: Out the gate the screen was hard to see due to glare, in curtain light and angles it was not bad but you will have an issue with it. Image is wide and far but making out the cars in the distance is easier to my mirror than the display screen. I can see that in some circumstances the back ground will hide dark vehicles until they are about on you (bend in wooded roads) I tried to mount it on the top bar of my handlebars but the glare was worse. will have to figure some way to shade the screen. I got this system because I designed this scooter so I can both stand or sit to ride it but the regular mirror works fine while sitting but are useless standing . I was hoping that being a screen I did not need worry about how the focus the screen so sitting or standing I could see my rearview. it will take some getting use to but will be keeping my mirror for now as well. This comes with a low charge so put on a charge as soon as you get it, mine took around 5 hours to charge After further riding I discovered the image is closer than you think and cars in the distance 75 to 100 yards are not visible even if they have their lights on will stick with old mirror for safety reasons.

Really Pleased with this Gadget!

Exceptional for the price. Easy to charge. Video quality is good enough. Menus and settings are all really basic, but functional and design is good. Clamps are well thought out and seem solid. The clamps work great and cam cord is long enough - I believe it would even be long enough for a step-through/foldable to route camera all the way to the rear. I got a NuPro screen protector for a tablet (cheap) and cut it to fit for anti-glare (you will want this). That little added security of having full hindsight without turning my whole aging body is nice (especially with another rider). My only gripe, and I hesitate to mention it here because it might not be the items fault, is that the entire package WREAKS of some sort of fumigation smell - like a REALLY pungent floral bug spray smell. It permeates the box and into the . . . it's like the whole thing got dipped in something that stinks up an entire room. and it is not just a foul odor, it is REALLY nasty to the point where I put everything outside to air out.

TWO STRIKES

The first Feisike Bike Rearview Monitor that I purchased had a faulty charging connector. The only way to charge it was to remove the back of the monitor and apply pressure to the USB cable onto the charge connection. After a few times charging it in this manner not even the work around succeeded in charging the monitor. I assumed that this was an aberration and wrote off the loss. The second Feisike Bike Rearview Monitor I purchased charged without a problem but after I turned it on I attempted to adjust the brightness and contrast. It worked momentarily then stopped responding within seconds. I could not change any of the settings or turn off the monitor. It was at that point I decided I would not accept the loss this time and notified Amazon of the faulty product. Notwithstanding these problems, for the few times I was able to use the first monitor it seemed to be a good product. The video from the camera was clear and it would keep a charge for quite some time. I would have kept using it if it didn’t stop charging.

You can see I haven’t removed the plastic yet based on other reviews that the screen scratches easily. To be removed and a protector installed soon. After two weeks I can say this works well in sunny and cloudy weather. Haven’t used it in rain or at night. I did have to remove the plastic protector on the camera to install on my seat mount. It would not fit otherwise. But other than that installation went smoothly. Picture is clear. Hard to see very far behind the trailer but I purchased this mainly so I could monitor my son on the trailer. Works really well on sunny days and so so for that purpose on cloudy days. But that is more related to the sun protection on my trailer that makes it harder to see. Seems like one charge should last at least 6 hours. Overall very happy with this purchase. Great value for the price.

I'm on my third camera of this type. I use it several times a week. Daytime rides only. The 3x zoom is essential, otherwise the view is too wide angle, especially for those who need reading glasses but don't ride with them. 4x would probably be just right. Current version has battery life of at least 5 hours, at which point it's down to its last of 4 bars. Image is sharp. The brackets and mounts don't work for me, and they seem generic. I make custom mounts for camera and screen, and that works exceptionally well. The two biggest problems that I've had are degradation of the battery, and the plug from camera to screen. In the past two units I've had, battery life decays over about a year to the point where you get less than 2 hours from the unit. It seems like the battery could be replaceable - it uses a plug rather than being soldered in. But I couldn't easily find one. The connector is the biggest problem. It failed on one unit completely, and it wouldn't stay connected on the newest one, requirign constant fiddling with it to regain the video. I DIY'd a 3 wire computer connector to replace it, and that now works well. So if you are good at fabrication and electronics and can mod this unit, it works great, but out of the box, I'm not sure I would recommend it.

Perfect rear view solution

VERY handy. I had a rear view camera on my bike and found it distracting and a bit dangerous, since the camera was affected by bright lights from the rear that made it hard to see. I decided to try this mirror and it worked perfectly. In fact, I took the camera off the bike and haven’t missed it one bit.
