  • Tough, quality tape
I got this tape with the intent to, as the description says, "Use it boldly." I don't have a torn awning or sail, though having used it I strongly suspect that it would be up to the task of fixing either. What I did have was a recycling bin with a big crack in the side and a wheelbarrow with a hole in the bottom. I taped the inside and outside of the bin and it's quite solid now - much more so than a similar repair with duct tape or Gorilla tape. It's 3" wide, so it has a large surface area to adhere to; I don't expect it to come off and I honestly can't see it tearing (it definitely requires a knife or scissors to cut, you're not tearing this stuff like duct tape). The wheelbarrow will be a more difficult test, as the tape is patching a 1.5" hole and associated crack in the bottom. I taped inside and outside and it is adhering firmly. I also pushed against the tape in the hole as hard as I could with my thumb and it didn't come loose, deform significantly, or puncture. Assuming this stuff really is weatherproof it's going to be incredibly useful for minor, non-structural repairs. I will return and update either way. Edit: After two weeks the recycling bin is holding up well. Even better, the wheelbarrow has been out in the sun and rain for two weeks straight and not only is the tape not peeling, it has actually been holding water. To be clear, they make no claims that it should be able to do this, but it can. Good stuff. ... show more

  • Make sure your awning is BONE dry
We recently bought a used trailer and the awning was showing signs of being well used. Some small holes started appearing and we wanted to take care of them now, before they got big. After wiping the awning down with soapy water, then plain water, then a dry towel, I tried to apply the tape, but it wouldn’t stick. As I tried to press and rub the tape to get it to stick, I found the awning was expressing water from the threaded seams and causing the tape not to stick. So, I moved on to another project and came back after the sun had a chance to dry it out. It was pretty easy to apply and it stuck very well. I think I got a bit more than 40 feet of tape. So I’ve got a bit extra in case other issues arise. ... show more

  • Sturdy and sticky
Have not had to use this yet on an awning repair. Cut off a small piece to test the durability and was pleased at how tough it is and how sticky the adhesive is. This should handle repairing an RV awning. Can also be used to mend any plastic tarp or bag too.

  • Strong
Repairing truck tarpaulins, even seating in old truck. Seems to have good adhesion, made sure all surfaces were clean and dry. Holding up pretty well even after the tarps were whipping pretty hard.

  • Easy to use and strong hold
I have a shade sail that is about 6 ft too long for our batting cage and wanted some way to cut it down and keep the edge from fraying. This tape did he trick. I cut the sail where needed 8 ft across, worried right after as it was already fraying. I ran the tape all the way across the edge, then rolled it over and did it again across the 8 ft. Just to make sure, I folded that in half and ran one more line of tape across. It looks great and is probably sturdier than the other finished edges of the shade sail. It it "transparent", but still can see the tape, so we are putting that side to the sky and have a nice clean edge facing downward. Even if you leave it so you can see the tape, it doesn't look bad. I've used other tapes and repair products on our tent and screens and this by far looks the best when finished, likely due to the fibers woven into it which makes it easier to apply nice and flat. ... show more

  • So Far, So Good
Recently, I had to repair a 6' tear in the awning on my camper. After cleaning the surface of the awning, top and bottom, I applied the tape to both sides over the tear. It adhered tightly and has remained in place through a few heavy rainstorms. Only time will tell how it performs. I also used the tape to repair a split in a tube on the vacuum cleaner. The tape is reinforced like strapping tape, so it's proving strong enough to support the damaged area, while still allowing extensions and tools to be inserted and stay in place. ... show more

  • Durable, strong adhesion and easy to use
The website description of this product is accurate. It is strong, will not tear easily, with strong adhesion of the glue and should be relatively weather resistant if overall adhesion is smooth, without any ripples. The fiberglass reinforcement allows this repair tape to be used in applications where strength is required. I will be using this tape to repair torn tarps. ... show more
