    • Sinks like a stone. Blows the 20A circuit.
Worse than worthless because it costs $38 and doesn’t work. It doesn’t float on the surface to keep the pond open for oxygen exchange. It sinks to the bottom. And it continues to blow every 20A circuit that I plugged into. Waste of money and deceptive.

The media could not be loaded. I was hesitant to buy this based on the reviews saying it doesn't float, but I had nothing to lose as a huge cold snap covered the state and our pool was 90% frozen. I bought two of these deicers and got them the next day, plugged them in and put one by each skimmer to prevent ice blockage and although they float sideways and not flush to the water, they worked to keep the water around the skimmers thawed and probably saved me thousands of dollars in potential repairs as the temps continued dropping and I was desperate to prevent the skimmers from getting blocked with ice and causing the pump to stop working. Bought this and it sinks to the bottom. Does keep water warm and hasn’t frozen yet but my fish and frogs came out of hibernation and my frogs died. Do not recommend

    • Stopped after 1 month
Kept blowing my high wattage GFCI, even plugged in correctly. Would not float - cord kept turning it upside down. Burned up after less than 30 days of use, 6 hours at a time at night

Moved into a house that has a small pond in the backyard so I got this. Plugged it in a few weeks ago and I couldn’t get it to float but it seemed to be working even while submerged. Today I went out to my pond only to notice that it has stopped working. I broke the ice and pulled it out to see that it is completely rusted out. Amazing has a ton of other deicers you can buy in this same price range. Do t waste your money on this one! ... show more

    • Keeping the Koi pond toasty
I personally would no want to sit in the koi pond, but it's not frozen over so the fish are perfectly happy. The cord is longer than we need for our pond, but it's nice to have the extra length if we ever need to move it to a bigger pond.

I am using this deicer in my Koi pond and have waited to comment until it began icing over. The Feemiyo does not float "flat" on top of the pond as it should and stays angled (despite additional wire slack). It heats up and melts the ice, which is what I need to maintain an opening. So far it has continued to float, but with the way it is leaning, I am worried it might eventually sink as others have experienced. I do not need it (or want it) as a winter pond heater and just wish for it to maintain a spot for the water to "vent." My pond is large so I am unable to judge if the thermostat is shutting it off when not needed which could be a concern with a smaller pond and the impact on water temperature (there is no light for example that signals when it is heating or not). . ... show more
