I was surprised to see how bright this one light is. I have not used the timer function, as I just turn it on & off. My seedlings seem to be growing well under this light. Like the clip and the ease of adjusting the position of the light. Meets all my expectations!

    • Cant use timer with auto turning on next day

If you choose a timer, it automatically comes on everyday at same time. I want light at 5am on work days to give it extra light in the day, but dont want it to come on on my days off, waking me up. Additionally, i would like to give it extra light maybe 3x a week, not everyday. I thought I would be able to turn it on for 4 hours, have it shut off, and then me be able to choose to turn it on when I wanted it the next time. The automatic everyday thing (with no work around), wouldnt be that big of a deal if the light had a dimmer on it but because of the amount of light, and having to be a daily thing, It is now starting the burn the plant 3’ away, so just make sure that every plant in entire area needs alot of sun (i didnt foresee this being an issue because both plants have never had a problem being in a window/well lit). I have no ability to move either plant somewhere else or further away. I have no choice but to now have to remember to turn on the timer in morning (which is what i expected to have to do), but then also remember to turn the time function off when i get home so it doesn’t automatically turn on the next day. I also thought it weird when I saw a review saying the control was too far down the cord; surely, that’s dependent on ones situation and the guy was being picky, but no, i have to agree. My light is up on a shelve and the control hits the floor. The length of cord is nice, but they should totally move the switch up two feet, so that its a couple feet from the light. Not really too much of a complaint, but it does add an extra step having to lift up the cord each day. ... show more

I have about four dozen house plants in my living room alone currently, so proper plant care is definitely important in our house! This grow light has been a nice addition to make sure my plants get enough light when it's grey and overcast outside. I found it easy to clip onto shelves and position the way I wanted. However, the buttons are so far down the cord, it's really annoying trying to use them and also have enough length left to plug in. There's so much wasted cord between the light and the control panel, because if I actually unwound the cord, the control button would be on the floor behind a shelf out of reach. That's my only gripe with this, otherwise it works well for my purposes. ... show more

This was a big help with the tomato plants I started from seed. They weren't getting enough sun without and weren't doing well. After I started using the light, they really grew. The clip held on tight so I could put it where it needed to go.
