First, I don't have constant back pain but my issue is standing/ladder work for long periods of time. Second, this is the FIRST brace I have ever purchased so don't have 'comparables' to eval against. Third, so I literally took a guess at this one based on the "look" of the design relative to the location my Back hurts and the fact the Triangular Pressure Point [V] pad can be removed to give me the MOST versatility. Fourth, it seemed that once I found my "SPOT" I could tell immediately, so I would think you will too. SOOooo, my results were not the best at first. I tried it without the V Pad and with the Pad which was better, but not that much better. I actually took the V Pad off and just played with the fit against my back. What I found personally was the V Pad felt better upside down (i.e. Point UP). After positioning it on the belt and tightening it up, I could feel a complete difference immediately. This places the two corner 'round' Pressure Points in my back "dimples" and places the 'elongated' vertical spine pressure points right where I have issues. I had put off doing Ceiling work on a step ladder until I got this thing and after scraping a ceiling for 3.5 hours STRAIGHT, I had NO ISSUES with my back! IMPRESSIVE!!! ... show more

I like that it has adjustable straps that are easily grabbed and tightened to get that extra tightening. A friend of mine has had one for a while, and that has been holding up for him a very long time. The quality seems to be great and probably will hold up well.

I bought an XL and thought it was too big at first but since I didn't want to bother ordering a smaller size to compare, I've just kept the XL. I actually like the extra overlap. Overall, the back brace is strong and secure around my back and the overlay adds to that feeling. I have bought 2 back braces from a local grocery store and they have worn out really fast due to the typical Velcro. After a few weeks of use, when I attach the Velcro on the cheaper brace, it almost instantly detaches with the slightest movement. FEATOL uses high-grade Velcro that stays. (I've only owned this for a week so hopefully it will continue to!) ... show more

I have DDD and adult onset scoliosis. I wanted something that would help with my daily movement and this brace is good for the price! It is hot as any brace is but it is what it is. If you want support, you have to deal with some drawbacks.
