  • **"Game-Changer for Studio Audio - Clear, Crisp Sound!"**
**"Game-Changer for Studio Audio - Clear, Crisp Sound!"** The Chkenono FC-1 dynamic mic preamp gain booster has completely transformed my recording setup! I use it with my Shure SM7B, and the difference is night and day. It delivers ultra-clean gain, without introducing any noise or distortion, which is essential for both podcasting and studio recording. My voice now comes through clear and crisp, even with the higher gain settings. It’s incredibly easy to integrate into my setup, and the build quality feels robust. If you’re serious about getting professional-quality sound, this preamp is a must-have! ... show more

  • Big Boost from a Little Device!
The Chkenono FC-1 Dynamic Mic Preamp Gain Booster, is a tiny device that punches above its weight. The solid construction inspires confidence when using it that it will hold up over the long term. The improved sound output is clean and that extra punch needed to all of my recordings. I honestly wonder how I ever got along without something like this before. If you're serious about taking your audio to the next level, I encourage you to give the Chkenono FC-1 Dynamic Mic Preamp Gain Booster a try. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Nice "Cloud" alternative
I use this with an SM7B, and I you can definitely tell its giving you a good boost, as I need to adjust my gain DOWN on my interface. I don't have a way to measure noise floor, but I can tell you that no one I have talked to through voice chats or my podcast recordings seem to indicate there is a noise floor rise. Everything sounds just as it did before. Its built very well, and mimics the Cloud Lifter that is so coveted for running dynamic microphones. ... show more

  • great pre am booster
The **Mic Preamp FC-1** is a fantastic tool for anyone looking to enhance their audio recordings. It uses **48V phantom power** from your audio interface or an external power supply to provide a clean **25 dB gain**, perfect for dynamic and ribbon microphones. It’s optimized for both **studio and live sound**, delivering clear, detailed audio without introducing unwanted noise. I’ve found it especially useful in **live performances**, where it helps reduce line noise over long cable runs and improves gain before feedback. The **FC-1** is durable enough for stage use but still quiet enough for **studio environments**, ensuring great sound control whether I’m recording vocals, percussion, or acoustic instruments. Its versatility makes it ideal for **podcasts**, **live streaming**, and **radio broadcasts**, offering professional-level audio quality for all types of projects. It’s important to note, though, that it’s **not compatible with condenser microphones**. Overall, the **FC-1** is a reliable, high-performance preamp that really boosts the clarity and detail of my recordings. ... show more

  • First time user. Works as expected
This was my first time trying a pre amp, so I didn’t understand all the specs in the listing, but now I get it. I thought I could boost a Maono Podcaster mic system, but it already had pre amp in it so it didn’t work. I just got no sound. This works just fine though with a regular set up and mic. The build is solid; feels like a metal brick. It was very easy to use with 3pin XLR cables (purchased separately). I also like the vintage look of the labeling. If you’re a beginner, be sure to research mic and mixer compatibility, especially if you’re using podcast kits. ... show more

  • Fantastic Mic Preamp
This mic preamp is excellent! It works seamlessly with my home audio setup, and it's compact and works well! For the price, it's an excellent addition to any setup and I would highly recommend!

  • works well enough
The sm7b can be hard to drive on lower end audio interfaces and this preamp helps to solve that issue. This preamp effectively lifts the signal passing through it for dynamic microphones but it does introduce some unwanted noise into the audio chain. It works well enough though and sure as heck beats the price of a cloud lifter, especially for its sale prices. Seems good enough for most people's needs ... show more

  • Impressive
This preamp works very well. I took it apart to compare it to my Cloud Lifter. The build is nearly identical. The FC-1 has encapsulated electronics, which helps protect the components from shock, vibration, and moisture. That's all good, so how does it sound? I noticed a slight boost in gain compared to using the Cloud Lifter. Having both set to proper gain, the noise level difference was nearly indistinguishable. I listened between the two repeatedly using studio headphones, and I would say the Cloud Lifter might have a slight edge over the FC-1. Personally, I will be using this for my recordings without question. It's a solid preamp, that performs well. ... show more
