Used to remove the impeller on my Goodman blower. Water had gotten in the motor and caused some rusting of the shaft. Not sure if I would have been able to remove it without this tool.

Years ago I worked in the air conditioning field and I wish I would have had this then. I used this tool to remove a blower motor from a squirrel cage blower unit. I started by sanding the motor shaft smooth and rust free. I then soaked it in rust buster for an hour. Installing the puller on the shaft was straight forward and easy. After I had the puller clamped on securely with the set screws I rotated the large screws and the shaft popped out of the fan with moderate effort. The puller worked well but the secret is getting the shaft clean and well lubricated. The tool is strongly built of quality materials. The tool came as described. The welds on the tool look good and it is a heavy duty tool. The threads on center bolt had a couple dings in the threads. The threads are 5/8-11 so I ran a die down the bolt and cleaned it up. It was a minor ding so I was able to clean up the threads by just turning the die in my hand without the die handle. Tool was easy to set up and use. Even though I sanded all the rust off the fan motor shaft and used PBlaster, it still required this tool to remove the blower wheel. The hub was rusted on the shaft! So glad I had this tool on hand to complete the blower motor replacement. Be sure to make the set screws tight on the hub before twisting the center screw. ... show more
