5” mattress was a full 5”. About 4” of fairly stiff regular foam and about 1” soft memory foam on top(see photo). The whole thing wrapped in kind of a muslin cloth then a really nice padded cover you can take off to clean. Really comfortable as a camper bed.

Very thin mattress, so I have trouble giving it more than 3 stars. It was wrapped up well in a box and did fluff up after about 48 hours. But the word "fluff" isn't quite the word that I would use as this mattress is so incredibly thin. There really isn't much back support to it. If you are looking for cheap mattress to just get you through, this may work. But it's not something I would invest money in.

I bought this 6-inch green tea gel memory foam mattress from FATHOM thinking it could be a handy spare or guest setup, and so far, I’ve been pleasantly surprised. The lightweight build makes it easy to move around, and despite being slim, it's comfortably cushioned—not so firm that you feel every coil, but supportive enough to reduce pressure. If your bed frame has a bit of flex or movement, this helps smooth things out. The feel reminds me of other memory foam products I've seen, particularly for kids or short-term use—cozy and conforms nicely without sticking to you. I did notice there was almost no scent when I unboxed it, which is a nice bonus compared to some foams that initially smell off-gassing. The cover is breathable and lightweight, so it doesn’t trap heat too much on warmer nights. Given it's only six inches thick, I’d describe it as a great value for guest beds, small rooms, or those who just want a basic, clean sleep surface. It doesn’t have the plush luxury of thicker mattresses, but for the price and portability, it’s a smart and practical pick.

This is a pretty basic mattress that works really well for temporary visitors. It mentions a cooling layer on top but I haven’t noticed much difference there. To be fair I use a thick topper over it so I wouldn’t expect to feel the cooling effect through several inches of foam. The mattress itself is on the firm side just like advertised though I’d say it leans more semi-firm. I prefer very firm mattresses so that might be why it feels that way to me. Right now it’s in our guest room but the plan is to move it to a daybed in an upstairs nook where it can be used for reading or where the cats can lounge. It’s not a very thick mattress so it could even be used as a topper in some cases. I’d recommend this for children, occasional guests, or as a reading nook cushion but I personally wouldn’t use it as my main mattress long-term. The best thing about it is the price. It’s super affordable and since it’s through Amazon it arrived quickly. It came rolled up with the air vacuum sealed out. Once opened, it expanded without any issues. Overall I’m very satisfied. It’s a basic but well-made mattress and it met all my expectations. For the price I paid I think I got great value. Our guests have had no complaints so I definitely recommend it for short-term or occasional use.

I realize that this is only a 5-in mattress but don't let that fool you. I ordered it for my 10-year-old daughter's bed and she absolutely loves it. It's the perfect size for someone that is her weight. I've even slept on it once and it was comfortable for me despite only being 5 in thick. It's medium firm I would have to say and felt great on my back. It does take probably a day or so to expand into its full height but that's true with pretty much all memory foam mattresses. Thankfully it also did not have any kind of weird smell like I know some mattresses can. I love that they're able to vacuum seal these and ship them easily now. It's so much more convenient. It looks and feels like a solid, high quality memory foam mattress. She also stays a lot cooler with this one. She tends to get hot at night and she's much cooler since she's had this mattress.
