Most importantly: this bag is secure(including the bubble), it is well ventilated, and comfortable for the cat and the wearer. I recommend getting a quality harness and a short leash to go with it so they can explore and be pet with minimal risk. I hear those cheaper versions have instances of the bag failing and cats getting away, so this is worth the extra money to me. My 11 lb male cat, who is a little larger than average cat, fits just fine in the bag. When he lays down he fits just barely(see photo) but can’t quite comfortably lay his head down to sleep. When he is sitting his head doesn’t hit the top, so it’s more than tall enough. There is a rigid bottom with a soft texture that makes sure the sides of the bag don’t squish the cat. It works well. It’s a little bit hard to remove if your cat makes a mess in the bag though. The bubble is not a requirement, there is another honeycomb-like vent that doesn’t protrude from the bag. The side and top vents work very well. The cat won’t overheat or asphyxiate. This can make it so that you have to orient the bag in a certain way or bring a blanket if it is windy. Also don’t use this if it is raining, the cat will get wet of course. My cat didn’t like being walked around or biked around in this bag, likely because of loud sounds outside and being shaken around. That isn’t an issue with this bag in particular, though. It will also probably go away with time. Overall I’m very happy that I got this, I strongly recommend it. I like that my cat gets to go see the world, from a safe comfy place. ... show more

    • Doesn't hold it's shape
This carrier wears nicely. The straps are adjustable. It doesn't keep it's shape while carrying kitty inside. The bottom sliped up my back causing kitty to lean away from me. Worn like this for a long period of time caused shoulder, and back pain and stiffness. Would only recommend for short outings. ... show more

As someone who works in vet med, I had high hopes for this backpack. I bought three of them., so close to $600 worth of gear. Two of the three cats have managed to escape the carrier. One in my car, and the other before I walked out of my home. The ring is not safe and if your cats are smart, fat, or panicked, they will force it out. Do not by this. I will be tossing these expensive pieces of trash and finding different carriers, rather than donating them for someone else to lose their babies. Whoever designed these should be embarrassed at their lack of safety. ... show more

    • Not Secure: Cat Escaped
Overall, it is a decent design. How far it’s too short for my regular sized cat, though I ordered the large. My primary complaint is that the bubble/mesh screws on with a plastic ring and has nothing to keep it from unscrewing. I second other reviews that this is not secure. Secondly, the latch is crap metal and a terrible design. It should be a quality, strong, caribeaner that screws down. My cat broke Travel Cat’s harness attachment with very little effort and escaped. Had he not known where home was, or been more scared I would not have my beloved kitty. No other perk of this backpack can overcome that for me. And the designers should take their jobs more seriously. I paid good money for this pack, and trusted it with my kitty. ... show more
