I've been playing Far Cry 6 on the Xbox One for several days now, ever since the day it came out. The disk works perfectly with zero glitches, unusual for a huge game. Far Cry 6 looks like it will have a lot of playability since you have lots of stuff to do and lots of ways to do it. I can't complain about the game mechanics. Everything seems to have been thought through well. As is usual with the Far Cry series, you start with a small map and gradually expand your activities to bigger maps. And as you would expect from a Far Cry game, there are lots of quirky characters and you spend time capturing bases, crafting, and defeating evil characters. Every one of the games in the Far Cry series has improved on the previous game (although probably the original Far Cry was more fun than Far Cry 2 for most players). I waited with this review until I played through the whole game. I own and have played every Far Cry title in the series since Far Cry 1. Far Cry is my favorite game series. Far Cry 6 could have been a great game, but unfortunately does not live up to the hype. First the good: The graphics and the map deign are fantastic. Exploring the island just feels great and the story is interesting. And some of the new game features such as the black-market missions are also interesting. The gun play is very good as usual in any of the Far Cry series. Here is the bad that ruins the game for me: Game level only has 2 settings, Easy and Easier without any challenge, need for scouting and coming up with a plan. I played through the whole game on the hardest settings and at no point was it really challenging or even kept it flowing. Especially if you play co-op with a friend. Most side missions seem like a boring chore. The resources to level up are so abundant that you will always be far ahead of the NPC opponents. Especially the military targets are way too easy and quite boring. Fly in with a shotgun, shoot, and done. Rinse and repeat – it is about as interesting as doing dishes. This game is far from being ready and cannot compete with Far Cry 5. It will need a major patch to be interesting. I think it has the least replay value of any of the Far Cry games. Therefore, I greatly regret getting the season pass. I can only recommend the game if you find it on sale somewhere and skip the season pass. ... show more
