I will definitely be ordering another one of these coloring books! Such adorable pictures! And the paper is thick. But I use colored pencils anyway because I can blend them better than markers. I saw on some reviews that this book has double prints of each picture. That is not the case with my book. But I’m fine with that. ... show more

One of the few things I actually really enjoy coloring is fantasy houses. This book certainly has some wonderfully unique ones, instead of the variations on the cliche mushroom and toadstool houses. The pictures are amusing and whimsical. The drawing style reminds me of Mark Kistler's work, in some spots. The titles on the back of each drawing is nice. I'm a little sad that the price of each book has gone up from $9.99 to $10.95 over a few days. $10 per book was already a lot of money for those on a fixed income. I don't mind coloring on "Amazon paper;" I actually prefer it over some others. I actually think it's overly villainized, because it is possible to get nice results on it, for example by using alcohol markers as a base for colored pencils. However, a lot of people won't make the effort. Yes, the increase is less than a dollar. I realize artists have to make a living, though. ... show more

I have not had a chance to color in this book but I am still very excited to. The paper I would call a mixed media type, but I will say it would be best to treat it in some way if you want to use a wet medium. Please use a blotter page if you want to use alcohol markers for it will bleed through but the best part is they are one-sided pages. Now I know some have complained about this but I will say this is IN THE DESCRIPTION. Halfway through the book, you will find that it is repeated. I find this to be positive because there are many times that I wish I could have colored it differently but did not want to purchase the book all over again just for one picture. The other bonus is for those who have a daughter or son that likes to color you can have a color party!! ... show more

I really really like RJ Hampson's illustrations. I didn't take any stars away for duplicate images. If you look at the product description, it is clearly advertised that there are 2 of every image. The first set is at the beginning of the book and the duplicates start halfway in. This is so you can share pictures or color them in a different way from the first time. I don't mind this. The illustrations are gorgeous and I'm very excited to get started in this book. The reason I docked 2 stars off is because it is printed on Amazon paper and I really wish it was on a higher quality. Luckily, Kalour colored pencils behave well with lower quality paper and I happen to own a set. ... show more

I recently started coloring again when my toddler niece fell in love with my colored pencils. Every evening, she wants to color with me and while she colors, I found myself coloring too and wanting to expand my coloring book collection. When this arrived, I realized that this coloring book is beyond perfect because it has TWO copies of each illustration. You are basically buying two copies of this coloring book, but in one. The coloring book says that they did this so that the person coloring, has two chances to color the same picture, but in a different way. It's perfect for me because I can let my toddler niece color one of the pages, and I still have a chance to color my own grown up version since there are two copies of each coloring page. ... show more
