If you know that the power source is correct for a device and the barrel width is just incorrect, just one of these adapters can save you $20 or more and prevent you from being forced to reward bad engineering practices by purchasing some proprietary wall-wart from the manufacturer (and that's assuming such a thing is even available which for older and generic electronics is not always the case). I have already used one of these along with a polarity reverser to power a Korg Volca from a OneSpot multi-device power supply. That means I can power my Volca along with 3-4 other devices instead of having to buy a dedicated, uni-task cable from Korg that would have taken up a whole outlet and covered another 2 on my power strip. I needed only one of these for a Drobo S that had a larger dc port than normal. I couldn’t find a AC adapter with the right end at a reasonable price. This size changing adapter worked perfect, they are well made. Who knows maybe I’ll need another one in the future for something else.
