  • Smaller then it looks,,,,it's more like a very fine tuning hammer..
Hammer is exactly what you see. Just smaller then it looks. I'd say maybe 1/2lb. Definitely ment for very fine metal work. Like auto trim pieces, perfection on fender/quarter panels lines. Would have added a picture, but not giving Amazon permission to access my phone. It's about 14" long handel, 1"and a half wide flat hammer surface, 2" tall head ... show more

  • Its a smaller tool. 1.5in X 1in maybe
I have been using this as a flatter in black smithing. The handle has held up to the great deal of stress i put it through. The head takes a daily beating from a 4lb sledge without any stressing. At first lick i thought i had destroyed the face, but one wipe od my glove revealed the same clean flat face as it arrived. My only wish is that it were 2x or even 3x larger ... show more

  • Top of the line auto body tools!
All Fairmont auto body tools are top shelf! In my humble opinion Fairmont is the "Snap-On of auto body tools, you can't get any better. Eastwood is also a top seller. Me Very Happy!

  • Highly disappointed
I received the flatener yesterday and was highly disappointed to see its a tiny tool. I was under the impression that it was for actually using in a blacksmithing shop, boy was I wrong. If I was to use this thing in my shop for what it was intended for it would be trash by weeks end. For automotive use or body work it might work well. I bought it to actually use to dress hot thick metal that had hammer marks, not autobody work. If I could leave no stars I would. ... show more
