I've used tape to repair some holes in my siding and it covers but tends to sag into the hole and doesn't looks so good. These patches do a much better job of blending in, especially if you get some matching paint. So far they are holding up well.

The vinyl siding repair kit is an easy to use solution for repairing the vinyl siding on my home. I had a few chips that I covered with the repair kit and it worked great. It will need to be blended in with paint unless you are usually it temporarily until the siding can be replaced. Several vinyl repair sheets come in the pack for multiple repairs which is wonderful. These look very much like repair tape that comes with inflatable pools and inflatable toys (TPU tape). My only concern is whether it will sag with time, especially if it gets hot in the summer. For larger holes, I may put a backing behind it, a thin piece of scrap vinyl to help keep its shape. I can't vouch for the longevity, but it seems to work fine, and it's very affordable. Make sure your vinyl is very clean prior to applying. It's clear tape (actually it's a bit cloudy) so you'll have to get some matching paint. If you bring in a sample of your vinyl, the people at the hardware place can scan it and come up with the color. However, keep in mind your vinyl may have faded, and in particular, the vinyl on the south side of your house may have faded more than the vinyl on the north side. ... show more

    • The color of the patch does not match the white vinyl that fences are made of.
The backing was sometimes difficult to separate from the patch. The patch was easy to cut to size and, once applied, seemed to adhere well. The patch white was not the same as the fence white which made it obvious that a patch was present.
