The size chart runs big. I was going to return it but needed shorts so much so I just use a belt. If size chart shows large for you then I advice medium. But the shorts are great. They are too flimsy for hiking though, a twig would tear them.

Okay quality, it feels like these could be great shorts but some things bring it down. Pros: - Lots of pockets - The plethora of pockets are great and the zippers work well. There is also a side hook option. - Sizing Fine Height Wise - The shorts fall right below my knees which is where I like it. Neutral: - Button closing - It works and does its job. - Aesthetics Okay - It would look nicer without all those zippers and pockets, but I am fine with it overall and I would rather have that functionality. Otherwise it is a pretty simplistic black design and the logo name is minimal. - Comfort Fine - These kind of feel like swim trunks (without inner lining) on your skin. Neutral comfort, not really good but not really bad either. Cons: - Sizing Off Waist Wise - Bought this as a small as I am around 29 Waist. However, it feels a little big, so it holds up but I am right on the edge of it falling down on its own. There is no drawstring either to tighten it. So if I put even my phone weight in it, the shorts will fall off my waist. I may have to use a belt but I really do not want to for shorts. - Thread Issue - Have a few threads showing I have to cut off, sometimes the button even gets caught in the hole threads. I am worried this will progress and give more and more threads I need to cut off or exacerbate the button thread issue. ... show more

If you're someone like me and you wear shorts all year round, these may disappoint. They're made of a thinner material, sort of like a wind breaker. They would be perfect for the summer months because of how thin and light they are, there is just no insulation for fall or winter. They have good sized pockets (sometimes pants/shorts have very shallow pockets) and I would recommend these as long as you don't run cold. ... show more
