I was impressed by this barcode scanner. Having used this brand before my expectations were high. The EY-041 handheld barcode scanner did not disappoint. I put it through my grueling barcode scanner series of tests of suitability, durability, speed, accuracy and value. First of all how does it scan? It scans great. Its processor/imager is powerful enough to rapidly scan as many items as I could throw at it without the dreaded 4 item pause that many of the budget scanners do. I could not slow it down. Now of course you still have to aim. This unit has an indicator light that shows you what it is scanning. That is important when trying to scan a specific barcode on a page of many. It can read all the major barcodes with ease and was impressive on how it can read smaller barcodes with ease. It includes a manual (this is very important for field installations to do minor programming for specific software needs) for programming and adjusting parameters. Connections are fast easy and intuitive. First I plugged in the cradle and was able to quickly scan items as it was pre-paired to the 2.4 Wireless device embedded in the cradle. It connects with an included USB cable. Next I connected it to a tablet via Bluetooth which was also very simple. Just hold the trigger down for about 10 seconds and it goes into pairing mode. It immediately paired to my iPad pro and scanned barcodes every bit as fast and well as wired or 2.4 wireless connection. The third connection method is simply the USB C to USB A cable to a PC. This cable also doubles as a charging cable. For me, the superior overall connection method would be the cradle as it provides wireless utility at high accuracy and simple charging in a base that is easy to drop it into. This is a heavy duty scanner that is well protected and built tough. Manufacturer claims it is waterproof. While I didn't dunk it in water, the build of this device indicates it is highly water resistant. All in all this is a very good scanner that succeeds on many levels. I can highly recommend it.

As with all Eyoyo barcode scanners, this scanner is well-made and functional as expected. The Bluetooth is easy to connect to and set up. The WiFi is functional as expected. The battery lasts as expected, and the base, is also a charging stand.

This scanner has been working great for me. It connects easily via Bluetooth and scans barcodes quickly. The waterproof design isn’t very applicable to be but is nice to know it’s protected if something were to get spilled on it. It pairs securely with the provided charging dock and the battery lasts a long time. I use it solely for product inventory but it would be perfect for warehouse or retail use, as well. I’ve accidentally dropped it a couple of times and the scanner was unscathed, so it has proven to be quite durable so far.

I really wanted to love this barcode scanner and I'm about 90% of the way there. It is super easy to set up (I set it up using the USB connection to a desktop with no Bluetooth capability). The manual comes with tons of options to customize the type of barcodes you need it to scan. It scans quickly and being wireless is awesome. HOWEVER the biggest letdown for me is that it doesn't scan one certain type of barcode in my elementary school library. I believe they are specific to a brand that sells their own scanners so I'm suspicious that that company has made it difficult for any but their own scanners to read the barcodes. I was told they were a certain type (Interleaved 2 of 5) but even after scanning that option in the manual, this scanner would come up with a number that didn't match the barcode. I contacted customer service via email and they responded quickly and provided me with a potential workaround. It did work, but then made it impossible to scan any other of my barcodes because the solution was to have the scanner ignore the first 3 and last 2 characters. Then the scanner wouldn't read anything EXCEPT the problematic barcodes correctly. :( Because this is a problem I've since discovered is common among many scanners, I'm not comfortable leaving a bad review, but I did end up with an expensive scanner that doesn't work for my library, which makes me sad.

This barcode scanner defines flexibility. It's supported by every operating system and device I'm aware of, from Windows to Linux, from laptops to tablets to phones. It's flexible with scanning modes as well, being able to do "continuous", "auto-sensing", or point-and-shoot with the trigger. Oh, and it also offers flexible connection methods, supporting Wi-Fi via the base station / charger, Bluetooth though, well, whatever, and you can plug it directly in via USB. And while I'm on this "flexibility kick", one last box to check, it supports real-time data transmission, OR it will store your scans internally. Whew, I'm out of breath from typing all that. But this barcode scanner offers a TON of flexibility, in pretty much every way. It's also successfully scanned whatever I point it at, so there's that as well. Battery life is pretty phenomenal, supporting 57,000 scans or 15 full-time actual use hours between charges. I'm going to be completely honest here - I'm a gamer and I'm not sure I could click 57,000 scans in a day. That's 2,375 scans per hour. Or 39 per minute. That's a lot. If you manage to get it on the charger once a day, you should be fine. Considering the price is less than a hundred bucks? I think this barcode scanner is a heck of a value. 5 stars.

I’ve been using this scanner in a warehouse setting and it has held up really well. The build feels tough and it’s clearly designed to handle drops and daily bumps. The grip has a rubberized feel that makes it comfortable even during longer shifts. The scanning performance is fast and accurate, picking up both 1D and 2D codes easily, even ones that are a little smudged or damaged. Battery life is excellent and lasts through long days without needing a recharge, and the power indicator is helpful so you’re not caught off guard. The charging dock is convenient and also works as a hands free station which makes high volume scanning much easier. Connecting it was straightforward since bluetooth pairs quickly with my tablet and laptop, and the usb cable worked right away. For the price this is a solid value if you need a reliable scanner for work.
