Appreciate the texture is smooth and grips a little better than the standard plastic shell. Good if you’re looking to mix up the look and feel of an older controller. Install was quick and easy too.

love this thing. looked kinda gritty and textured in photos but is very very smooth. i like it but if you want more textured grips, this is super smooth almost slippery. worth it though the color shine is true to photo and super iridescent. seller has youtube videos on how to take controllers apart and put these plates on, made taking the panels off look easy. thought i was gonna snap the plastic but the side panels snap in so it sounds crackly when you take it off. fits like a glove and i love it. might switch out side panels eventually back to original panels for a better grip, getting the faceplate only version they sell might be a good idea if youre worried about the texture. really appreciate the little screwdriver and set of screws, i used the original screws but its nice to have extra on hand. btw in the instructional video there was no sticker on the inside, behind the battery. i had a sticker covering it but you can slice a little hole where the screw is, it dents in and gives way so you dont have to peel it all off to get to the middle screw. just poke a hole and snip a little out to get to the screw.

This faceplate replacement fits tightly on the Xbox One X controller. I can't find any seams or fitment issues. This mod reduces controller weight (with batteries) from 278 grams down to 274 grams. If you are American and having trouble conceptualizing metric units, 278 grams is the weight of an Xbox One X controller. 274 grams is the weight of a slight lighter Xbox One X controller. You're welcome. If you weigh just the faceplates, the weight drops from 40 grams down to 36 grams. The orange screwdriver that comes with the kit was a Torx screwdriver and fit the included screws, but did not fit the original torx screws in the stock controller. I used a flathead screwdriver to remove the stock screws. The included spudger worked perfectly. Note: I see some other reviewers report that the screwdriver worked for them. Your mileage may vary. The color fade does not align perfectly on one side of the controller. See attached pictures. It's a minor quibble, but given that this is a third of the price of a new controller, I think it's fair to call attention to it. Pros: Very nice looking, no gaps or loose parts Relatively easy install; included spudger worked great Does not change the shape of the controller, so accessories will still work with this mod Cons: Included screwdriver did not work, use a micro flathead Color alignment is slightly off Other: Slightly lower weight, which indicates either a different material or a different mold, or both. This could either be more durable or less durable, I have no way of telling without testing to failure.

Absolutely perfect quality. No air bubbles in the paint, and its tough plastic. Not the cheap stuff on series x. Here's what you need to know. The included pry is flimsy. I used a flathead screwdriver. Just be gentle with wedging. The faceplate is easy to do. The button are hard. It will take a considerable amount of time if you're a novice like me. If your perfectly fine thumbstick, sticks after disassembly DON'T panick. It will likely work when you reassemble like mine did. Xbox series x and one x controllers are harder to unscrew than the one s. Those controllers have awkward bottom screw holes. This is not a race, so if you feel yourself losing patience, walk away. Don't try to foce things. I ended up scuffling one of the controllers trying to pry off the backing. Xbox series x was the hardest to pry off out of all 3 I did. All buttons set perfectly, just as the manufacturer had it. If yours doesn't, its defective. I've done 3 controllers with 0 issues. The end results are worth the hardship ahead. This is not easy as so many claim, but it isn't incredibly hard. It's somewhere in the middle depending on what you change. Button are hard, because you have to literally rebuild your own controller. The faceplate, thumb stick, and dpad are fairly simple. Hardest part is prying off the pieces. See my Xbox series x, one x project scorpio, and one s controllers in the pictures below! Best of luck. Absolutely love this case! I’ve bought 3 more since then. They’re that good. I really like that they directly replace the plastic pieces themselves instead of going over the factory plastics. They’re not hard to put on either. The hardest part is getting the bottom handle pieces off but after that, it’s simple. The fit is perfect and they feel really nice. It’s more of a soft touch plastic and it makes the controller feel higher quality. I would 100% recommend these.
