  • PURE AWESOME! *Quick tips in review*
Color: Textured Black
Man, I don’t even know where to begin. This kit is so unbelievably awesome and for the price this company give it to you for. It’s damn near, if not equal to a scuff. The back buttons have a great click to em. You even get a touch sensor with a led to show it’s on for simple remaps which is crazy cool! You can place it wherever you want in there with the little space you have. If you don’t want the touch you can remove it and just use the buttons to remap. You can remap with the controller off! The led will still come on. It’s so neat. You get 4 buttons too obviously. And, I know.. they look like they might be uncomfortable, but I was surprised when I finally finished setting it up how great it feels. I have the JDS-50 controller. For the people who get the faceplate with this. I recommend it. My faceplate seems top quality, not kidding. Damn near Sony. If you held it you would never know and think it was just painted, well besides the back buttons. But, back to what I was going to say. A lot of people are saying the ps button silicon rubber pad doesn’t fit right there... well that’s because the 3 (4?) controllers are all or some are slightly different right there and probably to make space as well be a chip sit there. So it won’t fit perfectly, but this it what I did.. Look at the spot where it goes on the faceplate and then at your rubber conductive pad for the button. Cut a tiny bit off each corner and it’ll slot perfectly and stay there, for my controller at least. I’ll post the pics of what I mean. My PS button works like a charm. It’s not lose. It doesn’t feel different. You’d never know. Some people had screws stripping. Well, you can strip a lot of electronic screws easily. Get it tight, but don’t overdue it. You can feel it when it’s right. (Not saying some pieces couldn’t have been defective or anything) Also, the controller won’t close easily when you’re done setting everything up that’s because there’s a chip you place in there and it’s against the battery. Make sure it’s lined up correctly and just squeeze it shut like normally. It may still be slightly open or a side pop open when you close the other, but that’s ok. Start putting the screws in. Put em all halfway. Then tighten em completely after. While your tighten em. Squeeze the controller around a screw as you get them so the seams of the controller are flush tight or very near it and there won’t be extra strain on the screws while you tighten them. Your controller seams should be perfect or really close to it at the end. Overall, it’s a 5 star kit for 35 bucks. Sure you can get the new Sony back button attachment now.. it’s simple, it works, just plug and play, and that may be the best choice for some people, but this is the better deal for only $5 bucks more. Setup won’t be for everybody. Though, the directions ARE easy to follow, but it takes some dexterity and patience to do it right. Tight spaces and small pieces with tiny wires. It’s not the simplest thing to do or anything, but it’s also not rocket science. Another tip is to pay attention to the orientation of the click buttons when you’re installing em. Look at the instructions good for reference. There’s also a YouTube video you can follow. You’ll see him use tape. You don’t need tape. That’s just to help if you’re soldering. It’ll be held and lined up perfectly by another part of the controller as you continue to follow. (Two screw slots pass though the 2 holes on the flex cable. Locking it there) So don’t worry. And, that’s my tips for the people after me. Don’t be too intimidated just be ready and take your time. Overall, it’s a 5 star kit for 35 bucks. It well worth it guys. It’s great. Buy it and don’t forget to tell your friends. Don’t let em miss out on the this. PURE AWESOME! :) ... show more

  • How to get a pro-controller without the pro-price tag.
Color: Black
So you’re looking at this because Sony’s proprietary back button add on is sold out everywhere, and the clowns that bought them all up are gouging a 30$ peripheral for 3-5x the cost, the third party “pro” controllers are overpriced with bad reviews, are garbage, or are lacking features that you would get with your DualShock 4. You like to work with your hands a bit, and aren't afraid of a little challenge. I bought this controller because I noticed that Doom Eternal was one of the few games that let you manually map buttons, the goal was to find a few reasons to remove my thumbs from the sticks as possible, allowing me to keep my aim moving and still play the game properly...those familiar with the newer Doom games know that staying on the move is critical to surviving on the higher difficulties, which is much easier for PC players with the keyboard/mouse layout. Look no further than the eXtremeRate, for around the same price as the two button official Sony back-button. There is no “auto-fire”, and does not increase the amount of buttons you can use on the DS4, so don’t expect this mod to help you cheat or map other functions to it, all it does is “reroute” another button on the controller to be mapped to one of these four rear buttons. For example, if the (X) button makes you jump in game, following the programming instructions, and now, not only will the (X) button make you jump, whatever rear button you program will also make you jump. The kit is really nice, I got the soft black backplate that you see in the pictures, it came with replacement backplate screws, a small screwdriver, and a plastic separating tool (critical to use this, a friend of mine got the same kit, used a metal flathead driver, and ripped the conductive sheeting underneath, making the shoulder buttons non-functional). With that said, if you’re committed to doing this, highly recommend watching the YouTube vids very closely before attempting, you can damage your controller to the point of non-use if you don’t focus on it. You can use an older controller (as long as it has the light bar on the front of the touchpad) to get a feel for it. It CAN be transferred to another controller, but if you’re going to solder it to use the L3 and R3 “click sticks”, it’s almost not worth it. Like any electrical parts, if you overwork it, the weaker components can become and break much easier. I don’t have the steadiest hands in the world and I was able to get this installed in under 30 minutes. The one annoyance for install was the gold connector ribbon, it was a fight to keep it in place when sticking the chip to the backplate for final placement, I had to remove and replace it a couple times, not a huge complaint though. With that said, have a little double-sided tape on hand, it makes installing the ribbon cable much easier. The buttons are nice and “clicky” not mushy, and don’t have a lot of travel, they feel positive when you push them, though slightly louder than clicking the sticks. The only other complaint I have is the foil “touch to program” option, I do like it, but I either wish I had put it somewhere else or omitted it all together. If your finger gets close enough to it for five seconds, it sets the controller in program mode, and the back buttons won’t function while in this mode, so you have to touch the pad for five seconds to turn it off. I highly recommend this, despite the two minor complaints. I am not nearly as fast or effective as I am on PC, but these really do help a lot. Pros: Fairly easy to install, easy to program, retains programming memory, little effect on battery life, back plate fits well with faceplate, buttons feel good, replacement back plate screws, a couple spare parts in the kit, tools included, soldering is optional. Cons: can seem intimidating to do, programming touch foil can activate by accidental touch with nothing but an LED light in the back which disables the buttons, (but can be relocated or not used at all), the cable strip can be bit frustrating to keep in place. ... show more
