It’s the perfect size for the space. It is not thick, but not thin either. I can feel my lower thoracic spine press into the floor while doing reverse crunches with legs up towards the ceiling. The mat size overall, quality, and price are decent. I would say that the mat is not thin in material but not as thick as you'd find in a commercial gym or what I'd recommend using if your doing Olympic or power lifting if you have drop sets or do drop weights etc. I will say dropping weights isn't a practice some view as appropriate and this review isn't about judging that practice only saying I'd try not to drop weights on this mat VS more durable/thicker mats which are built to handle that kind of activity. This mat overall is great for padding, nice for doing some good lifts, stretching, rolling, or even basic movements. I did throw some weights down to help work the "rounding" out of the mat from when I first received the mat as it was rolled up and takes a little bit to work out the bends. If you look close enough you can see some "indents" and I'd note they've not recovered from a week ago when the initial photos were taken so this should offer some perspective in what to expect from a performance sense. ... show more

This mat is really great. It’s a bit thin compared to other but the material is definitely more durable than average foam exercise mats. We have it under our spin bike and it adds a little more stability and cushion while we use it. It’s definitely longer than I expected.
