Very well made harness that fits my german shepherd perfectly. I like the way the attachment point for the leash is further down the dog's back with 1 strap around his mid section and another strap around his chest. There is a third strap which ties the chest and midsection straps together to stabilize the harness and keep the straps from moving too much and rubbing off hair. I don't worry about causing any neck damage to my dog at all when he sees a squirrel. While my dog is certainly no service dog, I do appreciate the extra velcro on both sides of the harness to attach name patches to. My order came with "DO NOT PET" patches which I don't plan on using since he loves people. What I also like is the handle on the harness is perpendicular to the dog's body which makes it easier to grasp if I need to assist him into the back of the truck or just hold him back when he's excited. This is my second order of this harness version. The previous one, he got a hold of and managed to chew it apart. No fault of the harness, just an unfortunate accident. Would not recommend for pullers until they are well leash trained. My only recommendation for the manufacturer/seller is possibly better management of the extra strap material once you've adjusted the harness to fit. These tend to losely flap around. What I've done is to loop them back down the clasps so they at least point downwards. Also would be nice if there were optional accessories available. Something like a small zipper bag or saddle bag that could be attached to the velcro so the dog can carry his own poop bags. It would also be great if the seller could sell custom patches. 18-Mar-2019 Update: Knocking a star off after using this harness on two dogs for quite some time. Seems to fit better on my GSD but not so great on my Great Dane. You really have only 2 points of adjustment, the chest strap and the belly strap. The main strap which goes around the front of the dog is not adjustable. This is great for ease of putting it on, but can allow for escape if the chest strap is a little loose. My great dane has learned to bow his head and straighten his front legs out and he can slide right out unless I really snug up the chest strap on himm but that makes for a really tight fit when he lays down. Another annoyance is the buckles tend to slip over time. Constantly having to readjust the fit. The other issue is the belly strap. It is tacked in place at the front but freely slides along the chest strap. This makes it difficult to harness the dog since the chest strap can become twisted, be on the wrong side or fall out. I don't see any reason why that can't be tacked in place. If someone can explain why that needs to freely slide around, I would welcome it. Otherwise I'm taking it to the sewing machine and bartacking it in place.

This is one of the best harness serv dog vest I ever had, it's help me to get more control over my dog and didn't come out and was easy to put it my dog on. Harness vest material is very resisten and pretty good quality,worth it. Loved it !

I have had this vest for my 90LB dog for about a month now. I have used it for long walks and short runs with him and it works great. Easy to put on and once you get it adjusted it stays that way. One of the reasons I switched to this style VS some other ones is the sturdiness of the D ring and the place it attaches this one looks to be very sturdy, especially with a strong leash. Bottom line if you have a big dog, this vest is for you. P.S the name tags do not come with it, I had those made..

As a retired MGySgt of Marines I have seen a lot of dogs, web gear and dog gear. When I purchased this Spanker harness , collar and leash, I was pleasantly surprised to see something this nicely made. Super rugged, high quality, user and dog friendly and highly adjustable. I have numerous dogs but, the one I bought this for is a 110 pound Pit that is highly active, a runner, swimmer and constantly playing with other dogs. The last harness he wore out in less than three months. It's good to get what you paid for and I am very pleased with this purchase. If you buy any other brand of these products, you'll probably be disappointed and you'll deserve whatever you get. This gear is the very best. Well done Spanker! Woof!

I bought an XL for my white shepherd. He’s 90 pounds. Year and 4 months. Overall, I like it. He’s a big boy and this gives him comfort as well. Take the time to adjust accordingly. There is some wiggle room, but I’m sure he will fill that in soon enough. I like how this doesn’t look too military tactical, I was not in the service and wouldn’t want to give that impression. I have respect for the men and women who serve. This definitely works well with my dog, he can pull sometimes and this gives him that balance. Also, the placements to where the hand grabs are. Fantastic. Big boy approved! 4 stars for all because it just came in, and when I took him on a walk it had no bother to him. Fabric is light but sturdy.

We have two dogs. A pure bred GSD, and a lab-GSD mix. Our lab mix loves using this, and we can use it as a walking harness with her. She doesn't pull too much on it, as she used to with her choker chain, so this is awesome for her! The harness will slide around a bit as she moves from one side to the other, but that is ok, as it can be easily moved back to the center with just a little pull or by using the handle. Our GDS, on the other hand, cannot use this for a walking harness. Would not recommend for any dog or dog breed that pulls. It does have a great look though!

Worked great until it didn't. We used this harness once per week on our Saturday hikes with relatively light duty. Last weekend the buckle suddenly decided to snap. It's a good thing we had a collar for backup. I've reached out to the seller in hopes they will replace it, and will update this review with my experience. Edit: The seller reached out and replaced the broken buckle. Very great customer service. Apparently we had a buckle from a bad batch.

we love the products from elite spanker. we first got a very large 55 pound puppy and the vest, leash and collar worked perfectly. we got 2 more puppies and they all wear the same gear. we love the durability and the quality. we will be staying with elite spanker for their lifetime as they grow. i love the leash and it seems to pull just right and the collar is perfect and the way it is made and the vest is awesome. our own vet liked it so much she is purchasing for her own dogs. we get a lot of compliments on them when we take them out. thank you elite spanker for such an awesome line of products
