I was very excited to get this item - I've been feeling a little lame working from home and having basically no time for anything resembling traditional exercise. The resistance bands work very well, and the door wedge design is very nice - doesn't damage any of my doors and makes it easy to exercise in a variety of locations. It does seem like it would be more first-timer friendly, though. There's a QR code right when you open the box that says "get started," which you would think would take you to a video or some type of explanation of what all is in the bag. It doesn't - it takes you to their website where you can purchase their products. Some exploration of their site didn't reveal any useful information either, so bummer. I had to Google what some of these things were and how to use them, but the resistance bands and jump rope are fairly explanatory. I keep this by my desk and break it out on my lunch break (or meetings where I don't have to actively participate).

I follow a certain program that uses hand weights, hip bands, and resistance bands. To collect all of these items was a chore and expensive - more than the price tag for this entire set. What I love about this set is that I get more resistance in this set than what I already have at home. The set comes with workout gear and a massage ball for post-workout recovery. The massage ball is firm and gets into those glutes and hammies so good. Foam rollers are great, but a massage ball is killer. The slide discs slide well. When using them during lunges, I look to see if they stick or get stuck while moving in varying directions. The slides worked well, and I was able to get into various lunge positions seamlessly. The instruction card is to help you perform the exercises correctly, so for a beginner I think what they have here are basic exercises and recovery movements but which are key to keeping healthy and ones that I have done for years. I did like the instruction on rolling your shins - that was new to me and was a great idea. The pack itself makes organizing all the equipment easy - there are loops to tuck in the bands and stenciled photos to show you what goes where - taking the guesswork out of repacking your equipment when you're done with it. The best feature is that everything fits into its own pack, freeing up space in my house.
