It definitely cuts paper though it took me a second or two to figure out how to use it. It's not terribly precise. You have to guess where the cut will be so I've missed my mark a few times but it's not difficult to use when you get the hang of it.

The flip out square is ….. not as accurate or easy as you would want for big pages. There was a no lock to square alignment. It is loos floating. Also, there was a no support to prevent paper SAF at the opposite corner. The ruler is way off from the cut point. Honestly it is easy to see where the city line is going to be and align without needing the ruler. If you need perfect exact sizes repeated over and over, .. I dont think this is it. If you can handle a slight variance, 1/32 of an inch or so, then this is great. I needed to cut school pictures and resize pictures to fit in frames. This is perfect for what I needed ... show more

It's compact, easy to use and cuts as accurate as can be - better than trying to use scissors or a trimming blade! I like the fold out "arm" which helps as a straight edge and also another measurement point. I use mine primarily for cutting vinyl.
