It works: just add water. My climate is dry & hot (esp during summer). Bought for bedroom use. It cools the room. Is it quiet? Sounds like a fan that waters running through. You can have conversations and work… quiet enough. It cools effectively while being pretty and clean looking. Large fan output area (some are more machine with smaller openings for cool air flow). Rotation is smooth, quiet, effective in cooling a room into comfortable space. Low wattage is energy efficient. Love the idea that room is getting chilled with energy comparable to a lamp. Remote control is small, lightweight and effective; thus convenient. One funny oddity: remote control must use similar frequency as my led candles. When I turn on the fan, candles flicker on too. In my case that is a pleasant synchronicity at night. Overall, excellent choice. If I had one wish it would be: portability. Have a big ole heavy duty evaporative cooler in another room that gets moved around the house as needed because it has wheels. This one is so good and effective I wish I could move it easily. Good value, compared to a fan this is great. Compared to my limited evaporative cooler exposure, it’s a win. One caution: fill from bottom. I did one e accidentally overfill when filling from top and not paying attention to how full it was. This worked ok the first year but this year the water doesn't circulate. It's another product best used in a hot, dry area rather than hot and humid. It does produce cooler air as long as you have cold packs or ice but neither last very long. Very disappointed the water quit circulating. Now it's just another fan. ... show more

I love this fan! It's got great speeds, super quiet, and can easily cool a room. The only drawback is the front screen. It displays the temperature of the room, which is great. Once the fan has been on 10 or so minutes, it disappears which is great for nighttime sleep so it's not bright. However if you don't run the fan, the LED is stays on permanently and is just crazy bright at night so I have to put a piece of clothing over it before I go to sleep when we don't run it. ... show more

This fan cooler has never worked. It only beeps when I turn it on. It's impossible to to talk to someone at Amazon. I want to send it back but only can talk to a computer when talking to Amazon. I had discarded the box and Amazon's computer states that I have to package it in order to return it. This has been so very very frustrating. Where I live it can get as high as 125 degrees in the summer. The average temperature is about 100 to 118 degrees. I am an elderly person and need this. An update 8/22. I still have this with no response from Amazon or the manufacturer. i had thrown the box away and the person I talked with from Amazon couldn't help me because I didn't have the box. I just don't plan on an item not working. I am very hesitant now to purchase electronics from Amazon. I'm seeing now that it is too late to return this. I tried. Even finally reached someone from Amazon, but because I didn't have the box he couldn't help me. I then had back surgery and have been down. An expensive item to throw away. bought mine originally in july and was enjoying it and it does keep you cool and it has good range but i had to get a replacement because the part that is connected to the motor and to base that turns the fan broke and since it has a year warranty i contacted trustech and been emailing back and forth and they sent me a replacement and they dont expect you to send the other one back so their customer service is great ... show more

    • For a fan it's too expensive
Pry the only good thing about it is that it works well as a fan. Don't bother using the ice boxs that are poorly made, just fill it with ice cubes and it works OK but the weak pump and small outlet for the water doesn't distribute cold air very well, the tube also split on me and had to stretch it out to get the pump connected. It's basically a glorified humidifier, even with the ice it doesn't cool a tiny 9x9 size room. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I used to lower the temperature in my room by 12 x 12 ft to assist the central air conditioner. It works really well. It keeps my room constant temperature at 77F even though the central air conditioner is preset at 78F. I got the feeling the outside compressor is working less and quieter. Maybe the electricity bill will be less than the previous bill. One problem is I keep worried the water pump will be damaged if I forget to turn it off when the bottom water tank is below the minimum lever marked. I got a video showing how to disconnect the bottom water tank to show you guys. ... show more

I'm too cheap to run air conditioning unless it is over 90. So I bought this swamp cooler fan - and yes, it is humid w.here I live - to run when it is in the 80's outside. The pluses - the air really is cool that comes out of it. It is quiet. I love having a remote for it. It can swivel or remain still. I may even buy a second one for my bedroom.
