OK, I was extremely mad when this insert didn’t fit my Milwaukee case. I shoved, I twisted, I may have even stared at it aggressively… and nothing. I was ready to write a strongly worded review… until I realized I was the problem. Turns out, my slim case wasn't going to magically grow to fit the full insert. So, like any tool-loving person in denial, I grabbed the foam insert and marched into the store like it was a VIP backstage pass to the Packout club. Found the right case (the real one this foam was meant for), and voila — everything fit perfectly. My wife said the drill set was “fine in the bag it came in” — pfft. She also says I don’t need 14 types of screwdrivers. What does she know about proper tool storage anyway? Bottom line: if you buy the right case, this insert is amazing. Snug, professional looking, and a dream for anyone who believes tools deserve a cushy custom bed. Just don’t be like me — read the listing before you rage build a review.

This is the second foam Packout liner I've reviewed for the Installation driver kit, and this one is almost perfect for what I want, fixing two shortcomings of the first. On the first one, I wasn't a fan of it storing the batteries with their contacts unprotected; this one stores them contacts down (though I would have liked a layer of foam for the contacts to rest on). The other issue with the old one was the lack of drill/driver bit storage. This one has pre-drilled holes for bits, but I'd have liked them to be deeper. The way this insert is drilled, you can only store the shortest bits, leaving drill bits and longer driver bits out. This insert's fit and finish, and overall quality is excellent though. It's nice and snug in the Packout box, and the tool and attachments are snug in the insert. The holes for the bits are maybe a bit too tight, but I'm sure they'll break in over time. Overall, if you are looking for a Packout insert for your Installation Driver, this is another excellent option, but for me, I think I'll stick with the soft case so I can store a better assortment of bits.

Nice EVA Foam Packout Solution! The Drill looks amazing in this shell and holds extra batteries and what not. I wish it had more space for bits but I keep a seperate slim packout on top for the bits anyways.

Fits my tool perfectly a lot better than the 3D print one I made. however there isn’t really any space to put your extra bits. This is a hard case so it will protect the tools better and can be attached to the packout system, mine came with a soft case which holds more stuff so there’s pros and cons with this.

Perfect, neat fit for my M12 Fuel installation drill/driver. It fits everything, except the charger. Which isn't bad. I have mine on my tool rack in the garage, and this actually fits in the case that the tool came with. It actually takes up the whole cavity, almost like it was made for that. Of course that means there's wasted space. but that's OK. A couple of things I don't like - one - it's hard to get some of the attachments out. Especially the drill chuck. So I just flipped that one upside down. The other is that it doesn't fit in with anything attached. So it's always a two step process. I always want the hex head attachment on the tool. With this case, you'll always need to take it off before packing up.

I'm both a graduate degree'd engineer with a great appreciation for good product design and also the owner of a handyman business who uses his tools daily to earn a living. With that as background ... This foam insert is specifically designed to fit the Milwaukee M12 installation driver. The insert fits that tool and it's accessories very well, with all the various bits easy to take out or put away. Although advertised as fitting various Milwaukee Packout cases I'm using this insert with the soft sided case that came with the installation driver kit. The fit on the insert is surprisingly good, with just a bit of extra space. The driver and its' accessories are all held securely in place and the loaded foam insert doesn't move a noticeable amount inside the soft case. Note that the installation driver and its' accessories are much easier to get out and store again using this foam insert than the original Velcro strap retaining system in the supplied soft case. For me the installation driver is a special purpose tool, so I don't use it every day. If I was using this tool everyday I'd wish that the foam was cut so that the tool could be stored with the hex driver head installed. There's clearly room for that if one of the two battery slots was moved to the current location of the hex driver head. The stock foam insert requires removal of any head before the tool can be stored, so a head must be re-installed each time the tool is used. The foam is easy to cut with a utility knife though, so I'm considering some surgery on mine to make room to store the driver with the hex head installed. 5 stars for function, 3 stars (average) for cost and 4 stars overall from this reviewer.

This is a solid option that could pass as OEM from the manufacturer. The foam is good quality, I think it can withstand normal wear and tear from inserting and remove the tools repeatedly. It's strong and holds its form well. The cutouts are precise, fit the tool and all the accessories snugly, not just to provide a general area, but holds them in place so they don't move around when jostled. Very happy, gives me that feeling I need to stay organized!
