The installation and setup were quite easy. I did this myself without any problems. Setup was fast and simple on the iPhone. I have Eufy security cameras already, so I have the app and was able to simply add the device in and configure my options for automatic locking, etc. I particularly like that I can turn off locking from the app and leave it off if I'm having family or guests for a party. I don't have to keep going to the door to unlock it. And when guests leave, they don't have to unlock the door. This may not sound like much, but my previous smart lock didn't have this feature and it could get quite annoying. I recommend this lock for its simplicity and ease of use.

I’ve gone through a myriad of smart locks. As a latchkey kid growing up, I lost a LOT of house keys. I’d have to regularly call my Gran to come let me into the house after school for lack of a key. As an adult my luck didn’t change. Which is why I absolutely adopted smart locks the moment they came out. I’ve tried them all. The big names like Schlage are expensive. The No name versions are either unreliable (Think standing in a torrential downpour for 10 mins while your lock says your fingerprints aren’t recognized and they backup keypad also didn’t work well while wet). Then there were some who would eat through (4) AA batteries a week. I was about to give up and go back to a life of losing keys repeatedly when I found this Eufy lock on prime day and decided to give it a shot. Best decision I made. Not only does it look great, it works EVERY time. The more I use it, the faster it learns my fingerprints and the faster it opens. Plus I can use my Apple Watch to unlock it from my car if it’s raining and I’m in a hurry. It has a lot of the same features as the other brands, but the Eufy lock actually works reliably. I’d highly recommend it and will be getting (3) more next prime day so I have them on the rest of my external doors leading into the house. Plus it really pairs with the other Eufy products in their ecosystem.

Hardware and packaging on the Apple level. The software and integration is Okay, but works just fine. Integration with Google, Alexa almost without a problem, but it takes time to figure out how to open door by voice (you need to add Eufy account and code to Google Home and Amazon Alexa first, without adding as the Matter device :( ). Smartthings need to follow order when you adding device/service: Eufy first. Just open Eufy instructions paper from the box or online version and setup everything in Eufy app first. After that you can make your door lock smart. Closing/opening door is very quiet and quick. The only problem is that the lock can't detect if door is closed/open, but this by design. You can add door sensor for $3-5 (from AliExpress) to your Smart home, so you will be able to close the lock when door is actually closed. 8 batteries is little bit overkill, but I hope it will survive more than 6 months. Matter/Tread support is okay, but at this time it's still many things needs to fixed and functionality limited compared to using manufacturing app and bridge. With BF discount this is the one of the best if not the best and affordable Matter Smart Lock for now.

I have been an Anker/Eufy fan for many years and have owned several of their products, but this has been my worst experience yet. I bought two of these locks, and while both installed easily and worked fine for about two weeks, they eventually went offline. I tried restarting my WiFi and removing and reinstalling the batteries, but neither lock would reconnect to WiFi. At this point, both locks were still connecting via Bluetooth. I then visited Anker’s support site, which directed me to completely reset the locks. Following their instructions, I reset one of the locks, which caused it to be completely removed from the Eufy app. When I attempted to set the lock back up in the app, it consistently failed at the WiFi setup step and could not be added back to the app. Since it is no longer set up, this lock cannot even be controlled via Bluetooth. Frustrated, I contacted support (which is only available via email). Over two weeks, I went back and forth explaining and re-explaining the issue. In the end, support said there was nothing they could do and advised me to use Bluetooth to control the locks. Because of the time wasted working with support, I am now outside the return window. As a result, I have one lock that is completely disconnected and cannot be controlled at all, and another that can only be controlled via Bluetooth when standing right next to it. Terrible experience!

I have been a KwikSet Lock fan for many years but the last few locks we have bought have just been issue after issue, mainly with the batteries dying so quickly, its even more of an inconvenience when you have a the same issue at one of your Airbnb locations, so we rolled the dice and bought the eufy lock. It has worked smashingly that we also bought one for our main house. This is an entry level locking system and its easy to use, and the bonus is its $100 cheaper than the big name lock makers. We have had an older Yale lock with z-wave technology on the front door for 6 - 7 years that works great. I finally got around to adding smart locks to the back door and door from the garage and found that the old lock with old technology was considerably more expensive than newer locks so I decided to take a chance on these Eufy locks. I’m so glad I did. They were super easy to install and look & work great. I highly recommend these locks for the budget conscious.
