I usually fly ultralight with a personal size bag, and I bring a packable day pack to use for daily use. I've been using another type, which is made of a very thin ripstop fabric- there is a trade off for durability (its developed many pinholes in the bottom) and has no structure to it which can be awkward when carrying heavy items like a water bottle. This pack, on the other hand, solves those issues. The trade off is for size- its a bit larger (about 5" x 5" when packed, but can be compressed slightly more). I used it with a large nalgene water bottle and some snacks on a 5 mile hike and I didn't notice the bag shifting at all. It also has several pockets inside and out, and the zippers are sturdy. Very well designed, except one item: It has a criss-crossed elastic band on the outside (for tucking a jacket) which seems impractical given the size of the pack. If I don't use it, I plan to remove it, and it looks like it won't cause any harm to the look or function of the pack.

The material is very thin but isn't terrible. The color is very nice and light. Has good pocket space. The bag folds up into itself which is pretty cool. Great for hiking and camping. The handle is very sturdy. Very comfortable to wear. Lightweight.

This MINI backpack arrives compacted in a small zipped pouch which is sewn into and a part of the backpack itself. It then folds out to it's full size. This is a MINI backpack adequate enough to put a few small items in. It has a bit of ruggedness in the fabric to add some durability to it. I also like all the extra pouches it has: two elastic pouches (one on each side), and an additional zippered pouch (after the two larger zippered compartments). The adjustable elastic rope could be a place on this backpack for putting a large water bottle or possibly a small rolled up picnic blanket. This is a cute mini backpack with a touch of ruggedness that is a good choice for those looking for a smaller sized backpack that has some extra pouches and features other backpack's don't have.

This is a compact backpack that can't handle tents and sleeping bags and whatever else you need for a long multi-day trek or hike. But the backpack is perfectly designed for short day hikes. The package comes folded down extremely compactly. The instructions show you how to unfold the backpack for use, and then fold it down again for storage. Once folded out, I was impressed by the strong carry handle, the shoulder straps and the variety of pockets and openings. In addition to the main opening, you also get a side pocket for a water bottle. There are a couple of small front pockets for things like your cellphone and sunglasses. The backpack is water resistant, and the material of the backpack as well as the zippers appears to be of good quality. The shoulder straps have minimal padding, so don't overload the backpack. But the straps are of adjustable length, so they should fit on most people without problems.
