  • Perfect measures easily and accurate

Like the small size and low profile. Looks great on my counter. Works perfectly. Would recommend.

  • Small Measurements Fail After Time
Style: Smart scale Color: Stainless Steel
This is the second Etekcity Nutrition Smart Scale I have owned. Both have eventually failed with small increments and both in the same way. I’m an experienced calorie counter and can accurately sprinkle an ounce of cheese or dish up exactly 32 grams of peanut butter like party tricks. Still I like to stay accountable and relying on “eyeballing” is not ideal when you only have a certain amount of calories to play with. Mistakes add up and can throw you off when you’re doing everything right. Both scales did fine for several months and then just went out of whack. Measuring a scoop of protein powder I accidentally dumped the whole scoop in rather than sprinkle. Scale registered a comically low reading like 10 grams when I know it’s somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 grams. I’d wait for it to register but it never did and what’s worse is that you can go on to “sprinkle” and it doesn’t start to add up until 5-10 grams in so someone who may not know that doesn’t look right can easily be doubling or tripling their intake. With high calorie, low volume foods this quickly becomes a problem. With both scales after that first time they just fail to register small amounts anymore. I’ve searched high and low for a way to calibrate but there doesn’t seem to be one so I’m moving on to different scales. I would not recommend for calorie counting (or baking) if you are wanting to add things like butter, oil, peanut butter, etc. to your diet. It works great at first but eventually can’t be trusted to be accurate. ... show more

  • Nice scale for someone starting on keto diet
Style: Smart scale Color: Stainless Steel
My wife and I recently started the keto diet, so tracking what we eat is important to staying on the program. This scale is very nice because it can weigh up to 5 pounds, and the convenient tare function allows me to keep adding ingredients or items to the same bowl or plate and zero out the reading before each thing, instead of having to measure everything individually. The display is well-lit and easily readable with big numbers. The shape and location of the display is such that even with a dinner plate or large bowl on the scale, the readout is easy to see. If you use the Bluetooth feature to view the readout on your phone or tablet, this is even less of a problem, but usually I found it too much effort and unnecessary to pull out my phone just to measure something. The two small complaints I have are: 1. The scale seems to update pretty slowly. For weighing single items, this isn't a problem, but it becomes evident when you're pouring something like sugar or a liquid. Since the screen is only refreshing what seems like every couple of seconds, you can very easily overpour and shoot past the weight you're looking for. This forces you to pour very slowly, and makes it a bit tedious if you need to get a precise weight of something. Having to get close and then keep adding a little and taking a little away until you get the right amount slows everything down. 2. This is a petty grievance, but I wish there was a better way to select the mode. Much of the time I need to either measure ounces or grams, but seldom have a use for the fluid measurement options or the lbs + oz mode, so when I need to toggle between g and oz I have to repeatedly press the mode button to change it. A suggestion I would make would be to have a third button to toggle between metric and imperial measurements, and have g and oz be the default mode when either of those buttons are pressed, and then the mode button could cycle through the solid and liquid options in each measurement system. ... show more

  • Great product support
Style: Smart scale Color: Black
i over thought the food data base part turned out to be super simple just type in what you want hit search and either use the scale measurement or type in the amount you want. their support staff was very helpful and i was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they got back to me. i did check the scale against a 100 gram weight and it came back with 100.1 grams so that's accurate for it's intended purpose and i have nothing that proves the actual weight i bought isn't actually 100.1g ... show more

  • Life Saver. Literally.
Style: Smart scale Color: Stainless Steel
I’ve struggled with my weight all my life. And being mentally ill I’ve always struggled to focus and remember things. This scale has probably saved my life. I was at 475 lbs when I bought it in June, and now I’m down to 409. It just makes the whole keeping track of calories and nutrition thing so easy for me. I just scan the barcode, put the food in the scale, it sends the information to my phone, and I hit accept. And bing bang boom, there’s my nutrition at my finger tips. And no more trying to figure out “Is this a medium apple, or a small one?” Nope, I just measure how much it weights and the app that goes with the scale does the rest. And then I can subtract the weight of the core when I’m done eating, because duh I’m not going to eat that part. The scale and the app have completely changed my life. ... show more

  • Very accurate with good repeatability
Style: Basic with Bowl Color: Red
While the scale feels a bit flimsy, its accuracy and repeatability are top notch. I tested it out with a set of laboratory scale weights at different weights between 1 to 100g, and it was always dead on accurate, both as I was adding weights to check higher values and taking them off to recheck for consistency. I like that you can set it for (indirectly) measuring volume as well as mass in both imperial and metric values. A plus is the choice of weighing in ounces only or in pounds/ounces. It's a little disconcerting that the display will - presumably artificially by software - slowly change values when you add or remove something, but once the numbers stop changing you can be comfortable that the value shown is accurate. I also like that the oval bowl that comes with it can be inverted and placed over the scale to protect it. This keeps things from being left on the scale, which could affect its accuracy if they were heavy enough. As for complaints that the display is too small to read, I have to disagree. The numbers are very easy to ready, and while smaller, I don't have any problem reading the current measurement unit on the display either. So while I would have liked it to be a bit heavier and more solid feeling, there's nothing wrong with how this scale works. ... show more

  • Overall great scale and takes quick measurements
Style: Smart scale Color: Stainless Steel
I got this scale because it is not too big and has a Bluetooth connection to your phone. Because it is not too big, I can leave it on the counter. I track my food in App Cronometer so I measure everything in grams. This scale starts up quickly so it is very convenient. The scale comes with an app. That app is the only way to connect over Bluetooth. I tried it out and it has a lot of features and is very similar to MyFitnessPal. Unfortunately, it doesn’t track as many components of food as Cronometer, so I can’t use the app. This means there’s no way for me to take advantage of the Bluetooth. It would be great if other apps could use it. I highly recommend this scale even though I can’t use it wirelessly. ... show more

  • Definitely helps with weight loss
Style: Smart scale Color: Stainless Steel
Combine with the app, this scale is a power tool to help with portion control... It really helped me realize just how much calories I consumed on avg. While the app food db is not as good as mfp... So long as your food have a barcode, it will be relatively easy to track your food intake.

  • Changed my Life, literally.
Style: Basic with Bowl Color: Silver
If you are buying a scale because you have moved beyond watching what you eat and also understand that tracking your calories is entirely dependent on having an accurate measurement of your portions, this scale has been a game changer for me. Less about this scale (but scales in general) this has helped me drop a significant amount of weight and track my calories . Even cheat nights are less guilty when you can measure the weight of a pizza or snack and use a food tracking app to log your intake. Regarding this scale, no issues at all. I bought it in January 2019, and today is August 1st. Still using the same batteries that ship with it and I measure my food for every meal, every day. The 'tare feature' is invaluable. So even though my plastic bowl that shipped with it cracked due to my usage, you can measure any food by first placing your plate/bowl on the scale, hit tare which returns scale to O. Now add your food. And if you are measuring more than one food item, a trick I use is to add one food at a time, log the weight, then hit tare, and add the next food. ... show more

  • I LOVE THIS SCALE! VERY ACCURATE!
Style: Basic with Bowl Color: Red
On arrival I checked the accuracy with a 100 gram scale checking weight, it was spot on! You can't beat weighing your ingredients for baking and this scale is prefect for doing the job. I was previously using one of those slim flat scales but had several issues with it. The biggest problem with the old scale was that whenever I wanted to use it, the battery was dead, so I had to keep it removed until use. When this new scale turns off, it is off and requires a button press to turn on. The display is back lighted and is super easy to read. I use grams to weigh my ingredients and this scale remembers this, so I don't have to change it back every time I use it. The acrylic bowl included is great. I can weigh all my dry ingredients directly in the bowl and the oval shape allows for easy dumping into my bread machine. Then the bowl cleans with a quick rinse. The bowl can be inverted and used as a cover for the scale. The size is compact and stores easily. ... show more

This product was working perfectly well for me. Unfortunately something happened to the screen and it didn't show all the numbers. • My new scale seems to be accurate
Style: Basic with Bowl Color: Silver
It did not seem so last night, August 6, 2020. I was weighing some crab meat for a casserole and needed a pound. After selecting the pound unit and removing the weight of the bowl, I starting placing pieces of the meat into the bowl. I wish I could remember details but I ended up with 00:10.0 which to me looked like 10 ounces, far below the pound I needed. This morning I tested it with some grapes, choosing ounces and putting in enough to reach 16.10. Leaving the grapes in the bowl I switched to pounds and found the scale read 1:1 which I took to be just a little over one pound. It appears my test indicates the scale is accurate, I just need to get used to the difference between it and my simpler scale it replaced. I just wish the instructions included how to read the scale because I may not be the only golden oldie confused by it. ... show more

Style: Smart scale Color: Black
I have never used a food scale before and I was a little reluctant to try it but the fact that this connects to an app which allows me to see the calories going up as I pour my juice or each little piece of cheese that I add onto the scale whatever it may be I love the fact that it doesn’t just tell me the weight but it converted to calories when I click on each item that I am scaling it is something that is super helpful and I went from dropping 2 pounds a week to almost 2 1/2 pounds a week and I think this has a lot to do with it just because I’m getting more accurate readings on the calories and in calories out of course using this with my fitnessespal and fitbit ... show more

  • PERFECT. NON-BPA
Style: Basic with Bowl Color: Red
Great product. I have no trouble whatsoever reading the display. Granted, if someone has a visual degeneration or other types of illnesses, I cannot speak to that. But as someone severely myopic, with very strong prescription eye-glasses, I have no problem whatsoever with this display: it is bright and everything is quite legible. Furthermore, I called their service number to enquire about the plastic basket's BPA content or lack thereof. The American customer service woman said that all their products are BPA-free but that she would check to make absolutely sure. She called me back the same day while I was out and left a message apologizing for taking too long and said that she would have the information soon. The day after, she called again to confirm that the scale's plastic is BPA-free. Wow. I received the scale on Monday, today is Friday: I made two breads and a set of cinnamon brioches. Everything came out fabulously well. So, the measurements are exact. Super easy to use. I highly recommend this item. ... show more
