I love that my Etekcity Digital Kitchen Scale is a great tool in my kitchen to help me measure food to ensure that I track what I’m putting into my body, my husband's and my children’s bodies each and every day, all day! It helps me measure food and ensure the quality control on everything. This food scale is my constant companion. I don’t eat without it. Now, don’t get me wrong. I didn't always use a food scale to measure my food intake. In fact, for years when I heard people talk about using a food scale, and measuring their food intake it was always dieters, and one thing I never went on was a diet. At least not in the sense I understood they meant to use the word, "diet"! The thought of depriving my body from food was foreign to me. In fact, growing up with a limited food supply meant that once I was old enough to get a job, I exiled food shortage from my life. However, overeating because food became plentiful in adulthood with a job eventually became a problem. Especially after pregnancy and becoming a mother. An experience worth losing a few vanity points over for sure! However, with weight gain vanity concerns pale in comparison to health concerns. You see, I needed to know for sure that I was eating what my body needed, and that I was feeding my husband and children what their bodies needed. And, if I began to tip over to overeating, I wanted it to be a conscious choice! And for my husband and children, I wanted to help them learn when to recognize that they were tipping over the point of eating the recommended daily calories from each food group so that I and so that they had awareness of when they had enough to do the job of sustaining a thriving body so we could experience the whole life change we were after as a family. This Etekcity Digital Kitchen Scale plays a big part of helping us do that. All day, every day. It makes it easy. It takes just a second to put the food on it and measure the serving size. And I get to choose the units (ounces, grams, etc.). Now, I don't know about you, but I LOVE observing how people who work for companies in a support capacity do their jobs. And when I come across a person or staff that wows me, I stop and take notice! I also stop and take notice when I come across staff that has the opposite effect on me. And my follow through is just as thorough then as this review is now. The Etekcity Digital Kitchen Scale support team wowed me! Immediately they responded to my inquiry when my scale, which I had for a long time, stopped working one day. Like I told you, this thing works hard all day every day measuring food for a family of four. Well, their support team instructed me on how to troubleshoot what was the cause of the problem, offered to send me a new scale, which arrived quickly, AND the piece de resistance. Several weeks later, they reached out to me to ask me how the new scale was working. Talk about a customer support team! Now that's the kind of service I want all day every day! So, if you're considering buying a food scale for yourself and/or your family, I highly recommend the Etekcity Digital Kitchen Scale. Not just because it's an amazing digital piece of machinery, but because the company has people, actual human beings who work there that care about the service they provide customers and it shows in the CRM (customer relationship management) system they very likely automated utilizing the beauty of digital technology to do it, but they also kept the human element present with their service, which gives them an extra edge. This is my third Etekcity Digital Kitchen Scale! It's a machine. It isn't meant to last forever. All machines eventually stop working. There's an expected life for every machine. And when this machine serves me till it can't anymore, like the last 2 did, I'll gratefully whisper a thank you for your service to the people who made it and gladly buy another one. Year after year. This little kitchen scale from Etekcity is a powerhouse value. It is easy to operate and accurate, at least at a single weight: I brought a standard 100 g weight home from my lab, and the scale read it out at 100 g. It is powered by two AAA batteries, which were supplied. The scale gives stable measurements quickly. Here are a few features worth noting: 1) the scale automatically turns off after about 2 minutes of inactivity; 2) pressing the 'Unit' key toggles the unit between ounces, pounds and ounces, fluid ounces of water, fluid ounces of milk, grams, milliliters of water, and fluid ounces of milk (I'll probably never use them, but the estimated volume measurements are clever functions); 3) this thing has a range of 0-5000 grams (about 11 lbs), with a resolution of 1 g (about 0.04 oz)- that covers a tremendous range, so it is likely to be useful for many applications outside the kitchen. All these fine features noted, there are two minor shortcomings. First, the variety of units available is kind of annoying, because you've got to pay close attention to make sure you're on the units you want to use. Second, the tiny footprint of the scale (it's about 6" wide, 7.5" deep, and 3/4" tall) presents a challenge when a large volume of something, for example flour, is being weighed out into a large vessel (bowl, plate, etc). If the vessel is much bigger than the scale, it's difficult to see the readout and almost impossible to toggle units or use the tare function. Finally, I've had this scale for just a week or so, so it's durability is unknown. Overall, at this price point, I can confidently recommend this product.

I am using the scale to measure quantities of food for a diet. It seems to work well, but changing between scales is a little confusing. You have to know about how much something is going to weigh, or at least make sure you select the correct scale before placing the items on the scale. I really liked the zero out feature, where you can place a cup or bowl on the scale, zero it out, then get an accurate reading of what you placed in the bowl. It really helped me visually see how much meat or fruit I am eating. I like it’s thinness and color, and it has an on/off button to save on batteries.

Fast and well packaged shipping and well-described. I like this extra sleel]k slim design it is nice to have nestled on my couch tee top without a cluttered look. I bought this scale to have easy access as I am not a chef and I am not going on a “diet” —- it is to help reduce inflammation for better health and comfort. I have followed recipes closely and I have measured for a diet now and then, and I am normal weight but have learned this requires keeping my trigger u healthy foods out of the house and can eat my sweets as a restaurant, for example, I’m not a cook that doesn’t need measuring and I have two other scales that I will utilize in what is essentially making a life change. Similar to how autoimmune diseases change your LIFE. So, the best to do is make a life change to facilitate my gradual yet steady change of what goes in my body. My boyfriend will eat if I cook otherwise we are ending up with things that are not my kind of foods like greasy takeout burgers, etc. and cold fries lol This scale is a nice size and the Tare button evens out a bowlful of ingredients. Simple to use, well priced. A++++

If you always use the same sized mug, you might be able to skip the coffee scale, but, more commonly, you are pouring 6-8-10 or 12 ounces and having an accurate measure makes a big difference in getting your perfect taste. Also beans and ground coffee do not measure uniformly by using only a level scoop. It's a little off and that throws off the taste. This scale is inexpensive but gets the job done and doesn't take up too much space. Recommended. My pour-over brew is way more consistently perfect with an accurate measure.
