I purchased one for work - we weigh dies, this has been our scale for .001-30lbs for awhile now. It's plugged in all the time no problem, and it surprises me how you slap a 25lb die on there one minute, and it's weighing a fraction of a pound the next. Rock solid accurate. I liked it so much I bought one for myself at home. IDK why I need it really, but I've already weighed 2 packages, and I'm getting into cooking so there's probably culinary uses too. I have a fine gourmet products business and use the scale for weighing ingredients and finished gourmet products like pesto and gourmet pasta or vegetable salads. The scale top is flat, large enough to place bowls or boxes on and digital readout is illuminated plus it stands out for easy reading when a larger object is on the scale. Almost identical in look and function to my 23 year old commercial food scale that stopped working. This DSW-100 has a higher max capacity useful for gourmet production and/or mailing out gourmet packages etc. Has battery or plug in option. Prefer the plug in option as batteries are inconsistent, unreliable and expensive though battery option nice to have if electricity not available for use at market. I weigh pounds, ounces, grams etc. and need to TARE out (zero out) the bag or bowl and weigh the contents (see bag with coconut in photo, bag weighs 4oz). The digital read out lights up each time I add ingredients and then has less illumination after a few seconds which I'm fine with as I can still read it. Tried another less expensive scale first, malfunctioned within 30 min., returned it. I hope the DSW-100 continues to perform as well as my original scale and lasts even longer in life.
