The scale is great- accurate, supports a respectable amount of weight, and very easy to clean, especially as its water resistant. Battery life is very good (but would charge it before first use). Unfortunately, 9 months in, it started giving erratic reads. We contacted customer support and they were very responsive, ultimately sending out a new scale. Replacement is working great. I’ve been through a number of scales (caregiver for a brittle diabetic who weighs everything to the gram), and this one is the best of the lot I’ve worked with. Overall, this scale performs very well. Accuracy has been excellent, even with small quantities above 2 grams. For cooking and meal prep, it has been consistent and reliable. It charges via USB-C, which is a big plus. I have used it for over a month, about 2–3 times per week, and have only needed to charge it once. Battery life has been impressive so far. The tare function is something I use almost every time, and it works quickly and without any issues. The controls are intuitive, and the display is clear and easy to read from different angles. It is also stable when using larger containers, which is important when weighing bowls or meal prep containers. The surface handles light water splashes without problems and is easy to wipe clean. One small drawback (especially from a Latin American perspective) is the unit display format. It shows pounds with the remaining weight in grams. Personally, I would prefer options like 1.5 lb, 1 lb + X grams, or full ounce-based readings. Not a dealbreaker, but something to keep in mind. In terms of design, it looks premium and modern in the kitchen. It takes up very little space and has a clean, refined finish. However, it does feel somewhat delicate—especially the top surface. It gives the impression that a hard drop could damage it, unlike more rugged plastic models. Overall, it’s precise, compact, elegant, easy to clean, and efficient. So, I purchased this food scale back in November 2022. Scale was easy to use, precise measurements, loved the look of the scale and used it every day 4-5 times during the day!!! It helped me stay on track with food intake - it was a life saver. A week or so ago, the scale started giving double readings of items that I put on there. I tried measuring 4 ozs of water and it would read 8.86 oz instead; this did not make me happy. I called the Customer Service of the company and they were not accepting phone calls - just emails. I thought 'great'..this may take a long time getting an answer. Well, I was wrong. They answered my issued within a few days. I had to send in pictures of the scale (front and back) and verification that I purchased the scale to prove how long I had had it (copy of invoice). They HONORED their 2 year warranty and I am getting a new scale in a few weeks!!! How about that!!! You can't go wrong purchasing products from a company who stands buy their warranties, and not have the customer go through loops for an exchange. I will always purchase any other electrical items I need from Etekcity!! As a matter of fact, I just purchased a humidifier from their sister company..so far, I'm happy with that item as well!!! ... show more

I’ve enjoyed this scale for three years and it gave up. This is the second of the same scale and prior one also lasted three years. Works great but now I’m seeking something with a longer life.

    • Major Flaws!

Update: Another "magical" feature of this scale is that the weight of a group of items (weighed together) doesn't equal the sum of the weights of the item weighed separately! Let me explain! I was making pita bread and when I weighed the whole dough it weighed 803 grams. I cut the dough in 100-gram portions and thought the last piece could be 103 grams, no big deal, right! But when I weighed the last piece, it only weighed 72 grams, for a total of...wait for it...772 grams, a deficit of 31 grams. However, when I weighed all the 8 pieces together again, this time is showed 797 grams, a deficit of 5 grams this time! This is truly a magical scale with a random number generator that even Las Vegas would be proud to owning! I hope the manufacturer, as well as Amazon, by proxy, are proud of this product. I'm really disappointed! This scale is neither consistent nor accurate. When I weigh the exact same things several times, I get different readings. Also, it freezes frequently, You keep adding ingredients and don't see a change in the reading. Once you notice the scale is frozen, it's already too late since most of the time you can't take off the ingredient you've added too much of because you're adding dry ingredients to wet ingredients (as in baking). ... show more

This is a great little scale, reasonably accurate and takes up little counter space. Even better is the customer service this company provides. They really stand behind their product. After nearly two years of daily use I started noticing decreased accuracy in its reported weights. I contacted the company and they immediately replaced the defective unit. The new unit arrived and has been going strong these past few months. The company even took the time to follow up afterwards to ensure the new unit was received, working correctly and that my concerns had been addressed.
