I had the opportunity to review the ESR Camera Lens Protector for iPhone 15, which was provided to me for the purpose of this review. Design & Build Quality: The lens protector is designed to look appealing on any of the newest iPhone 15s with a range of color selections for the ring around the edge, and crafted from Armorite, which is the term for strong tempered glass. The build quality feels very solid. Fit & Installation: Attaching the lens protector was a mixed experience for me. My first attempt, the lens covers didn't fit into place immediately, and the result was the lens protectors did not firmly adhere to the lens's such that there was a translucent haze. Because of the way the adhesive works, this meant I had to throw the first set of protectors out and try again. Fortunately it came with two sets. The second set applied well, and the protectors fit snugly over the camera lens, with no issues with the second installation. It also comes with a plastic spudger or pry to help you remove the camera protector caps, which was very helpful during my failed installation. Protection: The protector offers high protection against scratches and damage. The adhesive design doesn't allow dust to collect between the lens and the cover. The lens protectors do tend to gather smudges, oils, and need to be cleaned more often than the actual lens's, but you have no worries about scratching your lens when you clean the protectors. The Armorite tempered glass is rated to sustain 110 lbs of force resistance and is marketed with powerful scratch resistance. Additionally it has MIL-STD-810H 516.8 rated "Millitary Grade Protection." According to cursory internet searches, here is a quote regarding this certification: "The purpose of MIL-STD-810 shock testing, or Method 516.8, is to assess a system’s resilience to physical impact in handling, transportation and service environments, according to the standard’s latest revision." Shock in this case refers to mechanical shock not electrical. So these lens protectors seem very protective for this type of product. Functionality & Image Quality: I noticed that the lens protector doesn't usually affect the quality of photos or videos, but it does cause glare spots or floating lights when you are aiming directly at a light source. Otherwise I noticed no difference in the picture quality on my iPhone 15 Pro Max Price & Value: Priced at 14.99 at the time of this review, this lens protector does provide good value for the money due to strong protection, a second set of protectors in order to factor in for possible installation issues, as well as only affecting picture quality aimed at bright lights. Pros: Scratch resistance, impact resistance, good accent appearance to the phone (virtually unnoticeable depending on color preference), price, enough cleaning and removing supplies for both sets of protectors, and has two sets of protectors. It is case compatible, and consequently also works with my case, which is not ESR branded. Additionally it is marketed as carbon neutral, for those who value that. Cons: For perfect photography, the glare from lights would probably not be tolerable for semi-professional to professional level photographers who want to use their phone for content. The adhesive design on the lens covers are unforgiving for a mis-step in installation. The lens material does require more frequent cleaning than the lens materials. Conclusion: Considering the low price, two sets of protectors, and good trade-off level for protection to quality ratio, I would recommend this camera lens protector for those looking to safeguard their phone's camera without compromising very much photo quality. I rarely try to focus on bright lights, so the glare isn't an issue. Avid content creators need to evaluate their use case here, as the protectors do have glare spots if you are aiming right at a light source. ... show more

    • Not very durable and over priced.
I haven't had them on for very long, and with how expensive these were compared to others, I expected more durability. I noticed one of them is already cracked. I am also pretty disappointed I only got one set. With most screen protectors you usually get multiple in the box, so you can replace it when/if it breaks or gets scratched, whereas for this tiny little set of camera protectors, that costs a lot more than any screen protector I have ever bought, you only get one set. So now one of them broke and I have to order new ones. They do do stick on really well and the packaging was fancy, and they made the application very easy, I feel like it really is not worth $15 in my opinion. I ended up going with a different brand that costs half the price and still has great reviews. I would be less irritated if they included more than just one set of lense protectors. ... show more

The installation was super easy thanks to their applicator so i will give credit there. The 3 main cons for me +my final thoughts that made me take them off is as follows 1. the case I have which is a TORRAS case has a raised camera bump of a few mm, as im sure alot of cases have. With these on it now sits flush to the back of the case therefore if you were to drop your phone on the back, it will have an equal chance of hitting these vs not having them then it would only impact if you land on an uneven surface in the right spot. my concern is if you were to say drop it flat on its back, since these are flush would the force not transfer to the underlying camera lenses? vs if the bump was allowed to protect it, there would be 0 to min impact forces applied to the cameras. also biggest thing is now that its flush with the back of the case, you now have to worry about surface scratches i.e setting your phone on its back. so you induced a problem for yourself on that regards, granted it would scratch these not your lenses. these are easily replaceable but its still a self created problem 2. SMUDGES 24/7. These are not treated with oleophobic coating at all as soon as you touch them with your fingers they will smudge and stay there. during installation one of the smaller covers for the right cameras fell out and when i picked it up. my fingerprint was on the inside and it remained there even when cleaning it multiple times with isopropyl alcohol so that one had a permanent fuzziness to it the others once installed attract fingerprints like crazy you will be have to wipe down the lenses everytime you want to take a photo in case its smudged enough to be noticable (slight fuzziness in photo, trouble focusing etc 3. GLARE! putting glass on top of glass will induce a higher chance of glare in your photos, that is just physics, this gets especially worse considering point 2 since smudges will also increase the glare effect Final Thoughts: I never ran my fingers over my camera lens until i bought these so for an experiment i took them all off and proceeded to vigorously wipe em down with my fingers and there wasn't even a single smudge on the stock lenses at all, they also sit a few mm below the camera cutout on my case as designed I would say for the average user these are NOT needed and you will just be reducing your camera quality for very little benefit I would say these are worth it in 3 situations 1. your stock coating has worn off and you are not longer getting that anti smudge benefits anymore, so why not? 2. you really do not care about potential loss in camera quality under certain circumstances and would rather play it safe 3. you are in an environment that has alot of potential for scratches from micro particles in the air. i.e the beach, a job site, etc ... show more
