  • Excellent, cannot have greater value and beauty
Style: 6-String Color: Aqua Marine Burst
Aqua marine is my second ESP LTD TL6 after the black one. The model brims with amazing value, particularly at price points I got these on! Will not dwell on specs and features since you can search them online easily. I will say that the guitars are excellently manufactured in Indonesia, and as you can see Aqua marine dazzles with a unique serenity. How differing hues bring out distinct personalities. Few things to note: 1. Do not get this guitar thinking you can hear its sound as an acoustic guitar unplugged. The sound unplugged is as mellow as from an electric guitar unplugged. 2. The loudness from high E string in Black was much low compared to other strings. Had it checked with a Guitar Center tech, who reinserted the transducer pickup. The pickup (metallic strip) needs to be completely flushed and tight against the body to pick up strings' vibrations evenly. After that, the sound became balanced. Did not encounter this issue in Aqua marine. 3. Fishman TL3 sound adjustment is top notch with clear changes to the tone. Electronic Tuner is not very accurate though. 4. Excellent Grover tuners along with Nut (all features and appointments except for electric tuner are of high grade). 5. The guitar is longer than most and thus you will have to search hard for a case that would fit it. ESP LTD one is quite expensive. 6. There is a new TL 7 model out this year, which has seven strings. I thought the broader bulky look was a bit odd and extra string for me would be unnecessary. Choose what suits you. You will be more than delighted with TL 6 so long as you know what this guitar does. 7. And yes, the guitar takes multi-effect processors very well, enhancing the use for it. ... show more

  • ESP Winner*****
Style: 6-String Color: Black
I have had the guitar for a few weeks now. I was waiting to be sure everything worked and that I still like playing this guitar. This is my second guitar after purchasing a Washburn. There is a big difference in sound and built quality. The delivery was on time. The guitar came in three different box sizes. One very large about 5 ft. one inside of that, and then the final box, well wrapped and packaged. I was lucky I was home. I did not want that huge box sitting outside too long, or having the UPS guy throw it on my front door space, like they do. First impression is that this acoustic/electric guitar is a bit heavier than I expected. Not a problem though. It can start to be heavy after an hour or so playing. The sound is crisp and clear once its plugged into a decent amp or PA system. I have two EV PA's, mixed through a Yamaha mixer, then plugged in to a Zoom H6 audio recorder. The onboard tuner is large and easy to read. Just turn on the tuner, pluck the string, when the string is in tune the display changes to green. Its easier to remember to turn it off than the onboard Washburn which is very dim. The only issue like the Washburn is that the battery a 9 volt. does not last more than 10 days of every day playing. The real down side, is that the ESP LTL 6, has 9 volt battery which is screwed to the back of the guitar body and you need a small philips head screwdriver to undo the screws on the plate. So remember to pack a philips head screwdriver when you are at a gig. Without the battery there is no electric sound or even a tuner. I usually print the date on the 9 volt to measure how long the battery lasted. This part I do not like. Because it will run through several batteries per month. Its the same problem on the Washburn. But the Washburn has a pop up and out cover for the battery compartment, no screwdriver needed. In terms of likes, the fret board is larger than most guitars. Its easy to find the fret markers when playing. I finger pick some times and the fret and sound are decent. There is no humming or sound distortion. Although I have a medium size male hand, the fret board is comfortable to use. The overall sound is super nice. You can hear some parts that sound like a full electric guitar but most of the time its an amplified acoustic sound which is what I like the most. My style of music has more focus on the vocals and lyrics than music which acts like an accompaniment. The black color goes with my Yamaha keyboard which I also play. I like the black color body and was looking for something that looked good on stage and had better sound of quality. Overall the guitar meets my needs. I played it 99% of the time over my other guitars. AsI said I play both keyboards and guitar and want instruments that bring quality and professionalism to the stage. I also suggest a better guitar carrying case because it is heavier, so a cheap soft guitar cases are not going to protect your investment. Once you place it down, it going to hit the ground hard if you are not careful. Another suggestion is always place in a guitar stand when not in use, either on stage or at home. Just some suggestions from 21 years of playing on the road. The downside again is the battery life. It seems to last only 7-10 days depending on much you play per day. Once that battery dies, you have only a tinny sound coming out of the body. I wish that were better, but again my Washburn does that too. I am not going to give it a lesser star-rating, for that. Currently thats the technology to have sound and a built in tuner. If anyone reading this has a better suggestion, go ahead and leave me a message. Best of Luck! ... show more

  • Hated to return it.
Style: Nylon String Color: Natural
I returned the guitar for the following two reasons. 1. The sixth string volume was very low. Fifth string was better but still low volume. The remaining strings were equal in volume. This indicates a problem with the Fishman preamp being defective or improperly installed. 2. Intonation was sharp at twelfth fret. I liked the guitars tone and cosmetically a beautiful guitar. Well constructed and nice craftsmanship. Played well. Comfortable neck and string action. ... show more

  • VERY HEAVY/ and its a semi hollow body guitar
Style: 6-String Color: Wine Red
This guitar needs to be plugged in. Although it is advertised as an acoustic/electric guitar, unplugged in sound is like that of an electric guitar. Plugged in to an acoustic guitar amp, it does reproduce a very close resemblance of an acoustic guitar should sound. I would not recommend if you are looking for a closer "natural" sound of an acoustic guitar. There is nothing out there, that will replicate, the beautiful natural sound of a true acoustic guitar. There are some that come as close as can get such as Taylor T5z and. Fender. Acoustasonic series, and some others, if your don't mind breaking the bank. I would recommend if you are okay with the above description. It is decently made, and conservatively priced. I could not play it because I have severe thumb arthritis, and the action is closer to that of an acoustic. ... show more

  • Had it a little over a year now…
Style: Nylon String Color: Natural
Wow! What a great guitar it is and continues to be. It’s been a game changer in every aspect. It’s so comfortable to play I find it difficult to explain. I have a dozen or so other guitars which I’ve decided to sell because I just can’t see myself ever wanting to play them anymore. This is the guitar I wish I had from the start. But there wasn’t anything like this back then. It is so easy and comfortable to play it’s mind boggling. ESP created a virtual masterpiece with this one. I finally got the actual case for it this Christmas and it is worth every penny as well. For me, so far this is the only guitar I’ll ever need and I am a seasoned professional. This is the perfect balance between classical and modern. Works fabulously well with a Roland Cube! ... show more
