It's a good size to use with a large rectangular stone. I found if you use corn meal on it vs flour the dough slides off. I try not to wash it every time because the wood doesn't seem to be sealed; but, it's worth what I paid for it. I think the more you use it it might get better with age. Also, I like when I take the pizza out I can leave it on the peel and it doesn't sweat like it would on a metal pan. I wish the handle was a bit longer but if I pull my rack out a bit while putting the pizza on the stone it's just right. I would recommend it to others & am happy with my purchase.

Couldn't believe how easily we were able to slide the pizza from it onto the pizza stone! We followed the advice to rub it lightly with mineral oil before first use. Dusted it with flour and it worked perfectly.

I bought a pizza stone and wanted a pizza peel to make some home made pizza and move homemade bread into the oven. The peel is a really nice size and has an edge to slide on bread or pizza and move into and take out of the oven. I can't really comment on long term stability of this peel. It is made out of plywood rather than solid wood. Therefore, I would not want to soak it in water as plywood can delaminate over time. I wipe mine down with a damp cloth/sponge when needed and then immediately dry it with a clean kitchen towel. Then I leave it our to completely dry. But it does feel pretty solid and it was priced right.

For the price this thing is amazing. It slides the pizza on and off the stone so easily! As the title suggests it's a bit thin so if you're heavy handed or clumsy in the kitchen you might end up breaking it, so be careful.

I bought this pizza peel for it's intended use...placing and removing pizzas from an oven. The wood is thin, including the handle, but has a nice heft that is not unwieldy. One side of the front edge of the peel is beveled, and the handle has a hole drilled through it so you can hang it up. Yes, the handle is short, so I find I have to balance the pizza peel with my other hand, but this is a good trade-off considering how little space the pizza peel takes up as a result. The wood isn't entirely smooth, which can make getting the pizza dough off the peel difficult if you aren't liberal with your flour or corn meal. Others have suggested finishing the wood on a bi-monthly basis with mineral oil, though I haven't done this.
