  • The beat headset for gaming I’ve found so far for my needs
Hello, everyone! This headset is not for everyone. I understand. It is an expensive headset. There are many others that you may try and some may be better in some regards than this one, but I’m going to break it down as best as I can. Pros: great sound quality. Bass: full and resounding. Excels with other sounds overlapping. (Think metal music with many tones overlapping. Still retains bass without degrading mids or highs.) Gaming: excellent! Overwatch: 7.1 surround (game atmos off) I still prefer 2.0 sound with in game atmos on. Sound is much more directionally accurate, but at cost of sound clarity/volume for sounds at longer distances. When played at 2.0 with game atmos on it is superior to other headsets I’ve tried (turtle beach, Logitech, Razer and Sennheiser wired models) The mic is similar to other Sennheiser wired models, however it has more options for it. I.E. sound gate function and better noise cancelling via software. One of the best perks is the dual channel connection. This headset will connect via the proprietary dongle connection simultaneously with Bluetooth to a separate device. This allows you to be connected to a pc and walk away from it and have a phone automatically connect. (iPhone XS in my experience) The ew leaves a little to be desired, but for someone who switched between using a phone and pc regularly it is a godsend to have the auto swap features. Pros- Sound quality Built like a tank Dual connection Battery life is as advertised (16 hrs.) [have hit 20 hrs before with lower volume while playing terraria] Cons- Software could use some tightening up and could be simpler Mic could have better quality sound with the price of the headset. So the question eating you may be “why would I pay the money for this headset when I could buy the highest tier Logitech one for half the price? Sound clarity and directionality. The sound from this headset is clear, well defined between different tones and makes games sound like they were intended by the developer. I have seen complaints about the headset disconnecting, but have only seen such results when i was messing with the connection intentionally for testing purposes. Distance for the dongle-about 15’ give or take. Distance for Bluetooth- about 35-50’ (through walls-clear path) I’ve heard many reviews slate this headset for it inability to play music. It depend on what you listen to. This is the list of rating as opposed to how I think it sounds per genre Rock:8.5 Rap:6 (this genre needs more bass/treble separation) [in my opinion needs specific headphone tailored for the genre to sound as it should] Metal:9.6 Folk:9 Country:8 Classical: 10 Reggae: 8 Overall, a fantastic gaming headset. It is not the cheapest, so know what you want before purchasing. This is a headset designed for the audiophile gamer. I would love to say that it does not disappoint. ... show more

  • Great Sound Quality, Everything Else Not So Great
*UPDATE* DO NOT BUY THIS HEADSET!!! I am on my SECOND one after warranty replacement and I am having MORE problems with this one! I should not be having any problems less than a year after paying $285 for any product. Absolutely ridiculous, I have sent in a complaint to EPOS to refund my money. I bought this headset almost a year ago and I'm currently on my second one. The first one had problems with the microphone not working and constantly losing bluetooth connection. My second one is starting to have bluetooth connectivity problems now as well. Customer service was a pain and was through EPOS not Sennheiser. it took me over a month for them to replace the first one as I was transferred around to different people to try and troubleshoot the issue, all asked the same questions over and over. The software for the headset rarely ever recognizes that the headset is even connected to my PC, regardless if it's connected via bluetooth or USB. This makes updating firmware or adjusting settings a pain. When it is working properly, it works great. Good sound quality and great sound cancellation. They are a bit uncomfortable after long gaming sessions if you wear glasses as they almost suction cup themselves to your head which does give it that good noise cancellation if you are not wearing glasses. Unfortunately, the rest of the issues don't really make up for it, especially for $285. I had less problems with my $40 Steel Series, even if the sound quality wasn't comparable. I'm disappointed as I have a preference toward Sennheiser, however, they paired up with EPOS with this headset and makes me wonder if this is why the overall quality is not up to par with other products I've used. I will not purchase an EPOS product again. TLDR; Great sound quality, everything else was problematic making the price unreasonable. ... show more
