  • Almost perfect
I've had our EPLO D7 pro installed for about a week and here are my impressions. 1. Packaging / initial inspection: The toilet was packaged well and I didn't find any damage or defects. The toilet appears to be well built. I was missing the battery pack from my delivery. The customer service was pretty good about getting me a replacement. It took about a week, but they scrounged one up and sent it to me. 1. Installation: The install is pretty straight forward. One reason I like this toilet is you can use the existing flange and don't have to drill additional holes in your floor like other models. I had to grind down the sides of the T bolts so they would nest inside the plastic wings that mount to the flange. They are designed to be used with the supplied plastic sewer flange that is thicker than the metal one I have already in place. Getting it lowered in place over the wings was a little fun, but we got it there. It is a 2 person operation. Once I installed the supplied screws into the wings, the toilet seemed pretty secure. I caulked it to the floor for additional stability. The hoses are 1/2 inch compression fittings so I did change my valve out from 3/8 to 1/2 inch. I'm not sure how much different this makes in performance, but I wanted to eliminate any flow restrictions. Performance: When I first powered it on, the toilet went through its self test. After that I did the manual check of the functions and everything worked fine. The toilet has a great flush. I was a little concerned about this based on some other reviews, but it has no issues and the way it circulates the water during the flush keeps the bowl clean. The lid and seat opening work great. I was worried the lid would be opening every time I walked near it, but you have to be less than 2 feet from it to sense you and open. The heated seat is nice and warm too. I can't tell much about the deoderizer or the UV sterilization other than they are operational. Performance: It has worked without issue. I like the fact that as a guy, I can use the toilet standing up and once I walk away, it knows I was there and flushes. They have done a good job on the the toilet operation logic. The air dry is OK, probably like most other bidet toilets. It is a nice warm breeze and if you sit on the toilet for 5 minutes you will probably get dry, but I usually end up grabbing a couple squares of TP before that to do the final dry. What's keeping it from being perfect: This is not a deal breaker, but I was hoping for a stronger bidet stream. It's OK, just not quite as strong as I would like it and not as strong as our Toto Washlet bidet seat. I contacted customer service and they were great about explaining why it is the way it is. That doesn't help any with a stronger stream, but I'm am now more educated on the bidet operation. The water temp is great, the movement of the wand is great and I will get used to the bidet stream pressure in time. One thing I did during the install was to remove the screen in the hose T. I could see it getting clogged with mineral deposits over time and affecting water flow. There is another screen in the bidet circuit, but you have to remove the entire bidet assembly to get to it. I'll wait on that one. My one long term concern is how I will keep the toilet working. With all the parts in this toilet, some will fail in time. There is no supplied parts list. When a part breaks, I'm not sure how well EPLO is set up to provide replacement parts. Time will tell. ... show more

  • Very luxurious and easy to use
Color: DP7 PR0 ● Built-in Tank&Pump-assisted
Amazing value for the cost. I got this as a replacement for a Kohler Eir which did not work for our space and was 5x the cost. PROS: - I installed it myself, the weight is a bit tricky but I used a couple 2x4's to get it lined up over the flange and then dropped down one side as a time - If you already have a flange in place, you do not need to use the supplied one - Everything is very adjustable via the remote and easy to use - The microwave sensor is set up just perfectly, it doesn't respond until you step up to the toilet - The way the back of the toilet is sloped, there is a ~2in gap at the bottom from the wall vs the top. So it gives you enough space to hide cords and pipes. - I was able to put the electrical outlet right behind the toilet so the electrical cord is invisible - Emergency flush in a power outage works great (I have the Pro model) - The packaging and installation were so much superior to Kohler. CONS: - The seat heating at the lowest setting is still a bit hot for my liking - The instructions are almost funny and sometimes difficult to read and understand as if it was auto-translated, Eplo needs to invest in someone who speaks/writes English - I wish there was a way to turn off the beeps. It's not annoying at all and I find it pleasant, but there should be an option - The bidet washer works great, but it's clear that it's not an unrestricted flow from the water line and tends to be a bit weak at times - The side knob takes a bit to get used to - I wish the seat and lid open/close buttons on the remote were a bit less sensitive. It's almost impossible to pick up the remote without accidentally hitting one of the buttons. ... show more

  • this toilet is a proper throne!
Color: DP7 SE ● Auto Flush/Kick Flush
It seemed a big risk to spend so much on a newly designed toilet but my wife thinks I'm a wizard for choosing and installing it, and she's a tough critic (coming from Asia where bidets are common and where Japanese bidets can be very expensive). It really warms the water and seat and air for an all around superior morning ritual experience. Installation was complicated by the fact that I didn't initially realize there are compression and NPT threads on the adapter. The mfgs supply a 3/8s adapter which creates a 2nd connection between the bidet 3 way valve and the supply line, but I found it easer to replace the wall valve to a 1/2" NPT connector and eliminate the 3/8s adapter, reducing the drip, drip drip I was getting with the adapter going from NPT to compression threads (because the threads on the adapter were 1/2 a rotation too short to properly tighten, I believe, at least with my 3/8" valve stem). So my suggestion is don't use the adapter if you have a 3/8" wall valve. Use a 1/2" NPT valve instead to directly attach the bidet 3 way connector. Also, inspect the bidet connector for inner O-ring location (it seems to twist out of place easily during installation) and if you have a clean urban water supply just get rid of the screen and 0-ring completely to avoid it causing more problems than it solves. Once I'd done that I had to contend with the fact that getting the toilet to lower vertically to perfectly align with the stability guides that come from the mfg was too difficult because the toilet is too heavy to lower vertically without using some special jacks of some sort. So I got the wax ring properly attached to the toilet and then "tipped" it into place and properly secured it then with construction glue and grout so as to anchor it. And then let it cure in place for a day before using. This worked for me, although it's not optimal (will have issues someday removing it). But since there is no way on the smooth sides for anchor bolts something has to be done and I think my choice works and the result is clean and easy to maintain and unlikely to slip. The result is a "smart toilet" that has all the bells and whistles for a good price and what appears to be very good construction/quality. ... show more
