While some people have apparently gotten refurbished units mine was quite clearly fresh from the factory. 'Setup' was just a matter of taking it out of the box. The unit is very easy to use, heats quickly and holds temperature well. I've double checked the temperature with a non-contact thermometer and it's dead on. I did take a tip I read somewhere and use some powerful magnets I have to keep the included Teflon sheet stuck to the top plate so you have one less thing to handle when loading / unloading. The only thing I could put as a possible negative is that the pressure was set a bit high, IMHO. My rather petite wife couldn't get it open but to be fair I wasn't there to explain it to her and she probably just wasn't using enough force for fear of damaging something. ... show more

If you don’t mind throwing $400 away go ahead and buy it. If you’re OK buying a cheap heat press right off the boat from China which will only last about a year… this is your baby here. It’s a miracle this heat press did not burn my house down. When set at 200° it rapidly increases to over 500 …so much, it burnt the labels off the front at the top Patten! I have burned so many T-shirts even setting it to 150° To adjust for the unaccounted for heat increase!! So, If you think $465 for a 16 x 20 as I did …take in account the T-shirts You must trash because they are burned. It now cost you thousands in ruined products and time!!!! Silly me, I bought three of the same brand and they all did the same thing! Fool me once shame on you, fool me three times I’m an idiot! My iron did a better job that this piece of junk! BUYER BEWARE! ... show more

My product has a flaw. The Timer starts immediately when the unit is turned on and I can not figure out how to stop it. Very annoying!

I love it. It was out of the box ready! It took 1hr and 20min to heat up to 500. It works great so far. It came with some sort of case/cover and it burned horrible. Unfortunately there was no instructions on what it was or how to use it so I guessed and ruined it. Other than that I am pleased.
