I got this mainly because I needed just a few extra feet to reach the outlet, My previous cord struggled with overheating (when in use, it would actually get warm to the touch). The gauge of wire in proportionally related to the amount of electricity it can handle, and the length of the cord is inversely proportional to the amount of electricity it can handle. The warm-to-the-touch cable was an indication I was pulling too much current for the capability of my cord and I either needed to get a shorter or a heavier gauge cord. This cord is both. If you're thinking of using it for a garage fridge or freezer, GE recommends against using extension cords, but if absolutely necessary it should "be a UL® listed 3-wire grounding appliance extension cord and that the current carry rating of the cord be a minimum of 15 amperes." This one appears to meet all those requirements.

I got this cord to power a small heater under my desk. I wanted a heavy duty cord like my contractor cords. Those are 50 and 100 foot cords. Doesn't make sense to use such a long cord, besides the voltage drop, it's just too cluttered. Enter this short cord. It's just long enough, heavy duty for the heater, but not excessively long either. Feels pretty solid, should anything change I'll update this. Yeah, it's a decent cord.

Ordered this extension cord for the times when a shorter cord is all I need. No need to fool with a 25 footer. On some cords I’ve purchased, it’s extremely difficult to plug into the end of the cord, too much friction/interference. And then, it’s as difficult to uncouple. Not so with this cord, insertion and removal was easy.
