Perfect size. Haven't tried it on metal yet, using it to engrave personal property at work. Does great on plastic. Batterer charger is cheaply made, but works like it should. Pen feels very solid though.

I love this engraver. I use it really often and its always consistent. The included rechargeable 3.7v battery makes it run extremely strong but also a bit loud. What I do is pop some AAA’s in there and its much quieter and still powerful enough to do most tasks. If i need extra power, i put in the included battery. Although i haven’t had to do that very often. I purchased some lithium 1.5v rechargeable AAA’s and those seem to work nicely. I almost went with the rechargeable nicad AAA’s but those are 1.2v so the lithium ones were the best choice in my opinion. ... show more

This works really well without the bulk of other etchers out there. I bought this for work so that I can etch data onto ID tags. Although I have not been able to try on the job, I etched onto some scrap metal and works really well and doesn’t leave any raised metal after etching. I use the engraver for very detailed work on wood reliefs and custom doors. It replaced an old engraver I had used for years. The new one is so much better and much easier to work with.
