  • Leaks
Size: 1.8L Non-Turbo Models
I installed it and thought I didn’t do it right but was thermostat wasn’t sealed right, decided to send it back so i wont lose the warranty for returns if i open and seal it myself. I thought maybe the replacement they’ll send will be seal right but came the same so i decided to open and seal myself and worked. Still a lot cheaper than autoparts so would recommend buying it. If you see no silicone popping out of thermostat means is not seal right ... show more

  • Highly Susceptible to damage and the internal integrity is questionable
Size: 1.8L Non-Turbo Models
The media could not be loaded. No padding used; the box was broken, the part had taken a few hits. The part appears to be slightly warped from shipping damage, so I will not be putting this on my vehicle. After closer observation, even if it had arrived perfect condition, the manufacturing process leaves artifacts (jagged edges) internally, at least the one I got. I would be worried about these bits of metal breaking off inside during operation, and part of me wants to point out the possibility of negative effects on the internal Hydrodynamics, at least that's intended by the original engineers. All that aside, the aluminum housing feels solid but is susceptible to warping and becoming damaged easily from the part being improperly handled. ... show more

  • Better quality than the OEM design and you'll save a ton of money!
Size: 1.8L Non-Turbo Models
The factory thermostat housing on 2012-2016 1.8L Ecotec engines has an all-plastic design. Newer models have a redesigned version that's half plastic and half aluminum. Over time both of these will start to develop cracks to due excessive heat and pressure in the cooling system. OEM specs call for a 20 psi radiator cap and a thermostat that doesn't begin to open until the coolant reaches a temperature of 221°F. An all-aluminum part is essential for handling that kind of stress. I'm very happy with this product. It was not that difficult to install and I saved hundreds over what the dealer wanted to replace it. It's been a little over a month since I installed it and have had no issues at all. Some items to note regarding installation that may be of some help: The throttle body heater hose has a quick disconnect that is on top of the thermostat housing. You simply pull up on it and when I did mine broke. Pressed for time, I went to the dealer for a replacement. The guy at the parts counter said it is common for this to occur. Also, removing the air filter box will make it easier to get to the connection on the throttle body itself. The OEM spring-type hose clamps were not tight enough to properly secure the hoses to the new housing. I replaced them with marine grade screw adjustables. ... show more

  • Sensors do not last long thermostat housing itself is good
Size: 1.8L Non-Turbo Models
Thermostat housing is good quality is good went on no problems gaskets work perfect only problem is is the cheap sensors that come with it so far too have failed since I put this product in just had the coolant temperature sensor fail on my wife got stuck on the highway luckily I've got about 20 years in automotive maintenance so it didn't take long to repair it... But from now on I will not buy anything that already has such an important sensor included I kind of probably should have known better but lesson learned ... show more

  • Great replacement, don't over torque bolts!
Size: 1.8L Non-Turbo Models
Replaced cracked thermostat housing, water pump, serpentine belt and coolant hoses on Chevy Sonic. Thermostat housing included w thermostat. Do yourself a favor & get a torque wrench. It's extremely easy to over torque the bolts if doing by hand! Over torqued bolts will roll/distort the rubber gasket & increase risk for leaking. Bolt torque for 2012 1.8L is only 72 inch lbs (5.9 ft lbs). ... show more

  • Great fit
Size: 1.4L Turbo Models
I use it on a 2013 Cruze ltz. It’s a great fit and looks like GM part. I ordered another one and it didn’t last maybe 5 months before the spring broke inside ordered this one and it seems to be working good.
