I bought these to use during a two-week photographic trip through the south and northwest of Iceland. For the most part, I didn't need them, but once I began hiking in the Snaefellsnes Peninsula in late September, they made each day more comfortable. Although daytime temps hovered about 45° F, winds often gusted to 30 to 40 mph with driving rain. Certainly cold enough for gloves. These are better than gloves that pop back to expose all fingers. (Glommets?) Tthese expose only thumbtips and index fingertips, keeping the rest of the hands and fingers warm. Dexterity to manage dials that control aperture or function settings remains at hand. These probably would work just as well in temps down into the 30s under similar wintry conditions. I was glad the photograher’s blog hat I read before my trip recommened gloves such as these. I was more glad that I bought these at such a good price. ... show more

These gloves seem well made and warm; and the flip-top finger is pretty decent (which I wanted for handling my camera controls while doing winter photography), although it could overlap the lower part a little more. I initially bought a medium, per the size chart and they were REALLY tight, so I returned them and got a large. The large is still a bit snug, but better -- I'm hoping they stretch a bit with use. I like these enough that when I lost my first pair I ordered another. I use these primarily while dog walking to have the dexterity to tie waste bags shut without taking off my gloves. When using with a phone I typically don’t fully expose a finger joint as pictured instead only partially folding back the tip to expose a finger pad. This works better in cold temperatures and windy conditions than any thin “touch” glove I’ve used. I find these comfortable to use a little below freezing while walking. ... show more

Retuned due to grossly over-stated sizing. Even the size critical reviews don't describe the drastic size problem accurately. I'm normally XL with room to spare for movement, but these XL were actually a tight men's medium when I tried them on. I am not even sure an XXL will fit. Materials look/feel good except the finger slits are very small and may restrict blood flow to fingertips. I may try the XXL and see. ... show more

I’ve tried 11 different winter photography gloves. Up till now, the classic flip back mittens to half fingers was the one I kept going back to. But they tore over time, magnets fell out and they aren’t water proof. These gloves are fat and away my new gloves! Touch screen surprised me how well it works! The magnets are strong and you can actually work the camera through the finger slits. As for warmth, I’m in sweet today and it’s currently 19 degrees. Honestly, it’s too cold for these gloves. However, at 37 degrees I was satisfied! And we are taking photos gloves, not snow boarding gloves. I’m set with these as my new work gloves! ... show more

    • Excellent gloves for flying R/C or FPV!
I got these gloves so I could have my fingertips exposed for the thumbsticks and switches on my R/C transmitter. They are excellent for that! Much better than fingerless gloves. They are very warm and breathe well, hands don't get sweaty. Great silicone rubber grip from palm to fingertip. They fit true to size for me - you want them a little loose as the next size down will be hard to remove them (wants to pull the inner layer out with your hand). IGNORE THE SIZE CHART - who knows why but the measurements they provide are for the OUTSIDE of the gloves, haha! ... show more

Pros - Fit chart is pretty accurate Comfortable feeling gloves I'm sure the water resistance works, but I couldn't keep them on long enough to try Look very nice Finger slips are a nice addition Cons - THIS OUTWEIGHS ALL OF THE PROS - MY FINGERS WERE FROZEN EVEN WHEN WEARING THESE GLOVES. I began wearing them inside of my 70 degree house so there was no cold start before heading outside. They say they're rated for -25 Fahrenheit, but I wore them in +34 Fahrenheit weather, and immediately could feel the fingers becoming cold, and retaining that coldness. The palm was neither cold nor warm, and the pointer and thumb with the exposed tips were just as cold as the other 3 fingers on each hand. I am so disappointed in these and am in the process of returning them. It's a shame. Maybe I got a defunct pair? Not willing to try again. Will find a pair that works elsewhere. ... show more
