  • Surprising Quality/Functionality for the Price. Mid-tier Endoscope for Cheap
Surprising quality for the price. Its hard to believe they can make a screen with controller module, a camera with led lighting, and a 16 ft rigid cord for $20. The picture quality isnt super high definition, but still better than I had anticipated. The zoom function is really the only hokey aspect of the product, it really doesnt do much of anything. Otherwise this endoscopy exceeds expectations and is a phenomenal value. Would be great for finding plumbing issues, cords behind walls, or looking into engines through spark plug holes or intake/exhaust ports. Im sure there are dozens of other use cases as well. ... show more

  • Great for clogged drains
I had a slow drain and wanted to see what was going on before I started taking things apart or guessing at the problem. This was really useful for that. The screen made it easy to check the drain without having to connect anything to my phone, and the light helped me actually see down in there instead of just shining a flashlight and hoping for the best. The cable has enough length to get into tighter spots, and the picture was clear enough to tell what I was looking at. It is one of those tools you may not use every day, but when you have a drain, vent, wall, or hard-to-reach area to inspect, it is nice to have. If you deal with little household problems and want a better way to look before you start tearing into things, this is a handy tool to keep around. ... show more

  • Amazing and Useful Tool With a Clear View That Will Be Used in a Variety of Household Applications
Where has this little beauty been all my life? I think of all the hours I've wasted with a giant plastic grabber trying to hopelessly retrieve tiny items like dropped screws. Not only does this have a decent camera and viewing device, it also comes with a mini magnet, mini mirror, and mini hook that fit on the front camera. It's built with solid plastic construction and seems like it will hold up under rough conditions. I have not owned one of these portable endoscopes before, but I have seen the concept used in my favorite archaeology and handyman tv shows. I had no idea this was so reasonably priced or I would have acquired one long before now. As for the specifics of this Ditomil model, I'm able to switch from black and white video to color. It also has three zoom levels, which helps, especially when I'm trying to read tiny letters on those metal plates on the side of appliances. They really thought of everything. You can even change the viewing angle, depending on whether you're laying down trying to view the screen or having to turn the camera in odd directions. I also appreciate that they put a battery indicator directly on the viewing screen because I may be using this for extended periods with furniture assembly or installation work, for example. I can also decrease the brightness of the camera light so I don't get as much unwanted reflection and shadows. The LED light is surprisingly bright and it does get pretty hot if you leave it on for more than five minutes. This is mentioned in the manual as fully expected. I also agree with the instruction manual where it says you can get a clearer view if you pull back a little. That definitely holds true. You have to get used to where to aim the camera since it is so small and far away from you. However, it only took me a few minutes to get used to maneuvering and threading the cable under dressers and appliances to see what is lurking back there. The cord is pretty malleable so you can bend it and aim the camera in any direction you need. The cord is also very long which is a real necessity, depending on where you plan to use it. We have an older house and I know this tool will come in handy in the attic, for example. There is limited crawl space up there and being able to get a closer view of our infrastructure without traversing the entire attic space may prove helpful. We also have a roommate who is a heavy equipment operator and this may prove useful. I can offer my camera to help diagnose issues with his vintage truck and construction equipment. I have used this endoscope about six times since opening it, and it still has 75% of its battery life, so this is an excellent value and good investment from what I've seen so far. ... show more

  • Good value endoscope
I do a lot of work around the house and vehicles where an endoscope would come in handy. I already own a couple of them that do not include a built-in screen and instead connect to a smartphone or PC. I wanted the convenience of having a built-in screen so I ordered this one. My first impression is that the quality is good especially for the price. The controls for the device are on the right side but I find that since I'm right handed I find it easier to use my right hand to navigate the endoscope camera itself and not the device controls. With that said it is easy to flip the screen upside down to use my left hand to control the unit instead. It has a feature where the image can be flipped which works out great for that unexpected use case. I tried using the semi-rigid camera to navigate my ductwork to see how dirty it is, but found that I was only able to successfully get it about 3 feet in. Even then I was only able to get a glimpse at small sections of the ductwork walls the whole time. Not exactly the full simultaneous view down the ductwork that I was hoping for. To be fair it is entirely possible that is operator error due to my lack of experience. I had similar difficulty with my other endoscopes as well. The image quality while claimed to be 1080P is in line with other cameras that are 480 resolution lines and not 1080, but I have no way of measuring that for certain. The build quality is good and the price is also good at $22. It doesn't have any ability to record to a memory card or anything fancy but if you just need a simple endoscope then this one fits the bill. ... show more

  • A budget endoscope that works!
Really surprised by the utility this budget endoscope offers for all types of situations. Great for fishing wire behind drywall, grabbing that one of a kind screw you dropped that fell through your deck boards, large caliber bore inspections, the list goes on and on. I love this endoscope because not only is it affordable, but I finally have an option that I don’t need to connect to my cell phone, operates on its own rechargeable battery power, no screen lag, light weight, and portable. The 16.5 ft semi rigid camera cable responds well to guidance input. You can wiggle it to get it through some spots then can continue around a slight bend. To get an idea of how rigid this cable is… you can hold the cable parallel to the ground from one end and will start to sag about 22 inches down the wire. This is good and bad because it makes it a bit easier to wiggle around obstacles but a bit harder to push through obstructions. The endoscope also comes with a few attachments. A hook, strong magnetic coil for grabbing those screws, and a mirror that I will never use. The endoscope has a few features like zoom, image rotation, light intensity, and color/bw. The zoom function is pretty pointless, it’s hard to even notice any type of zoom at all… I think it’s a digital zoom that just slightly crops in the image. The image rotation seems a bit awkward to me… instead of rotating the camera lens it just flips the image on the screen around. So if you flip the horizontal access left becomes right and right becomes left making it disorienting. The light intensity feature doesn’t do much either. I feel like the only difference you see is either on or off. The color of the camera and resolution aren’t great, don’t expect a crystal clear image or true color. The color is pretty washed out but looking for wire and pipes in a wall I’m not too concerned about image quality. I think this budget endoscope will get quite a few uses before it breaks or stops working. It seems to be descent build quality for the cost and I’ll continue to use it over the cell phone option. Even though it doesn’t have the best features or picture, it works! ... show more

  • Useful tool, self contained
I had an endoscope I've been using for a while now any time I need a look in a tight space. It's been super useful, but it plugged into my iPhone lightning port. As you can guess, I upgraded my phone and suddenly my tool isn't so useful. To be honest, I hated having to install an app from a company I know nothing about on my phone just to use a camera, but that's another topic. This scope is superior because it is a standalone tool. I don't need to install an app, I don't need to use my phone. I just charge it and turn it on. Picture quality is good enough, I don't need to see inside the wall in HD, I just need to see where my fish tape is getting stuck. Light is plenty bright and adjustable. Cable length is enough for my needs. No setup other than charging. Overall, this is a great tool and well worth the money. ... show more

  • A low budget endoscope that does ok
I really wanted to like this but there are minor short-comings that are rather off-putting. But then again, this is a very low-budget endoscope. I wanted to give this 2 stars but decided it was fairer to adjust expectations according to price. So I gave it 5 stars because this is very cheap but does a basic job. The LED is too bright for the camera to resolve details. In the video I uploaded here, I was attempting to see inside my AC condensate drain line. I know there is a clog in the pipe somewhere. First thing you’ll notice is that the picture quality is so washed out, you really can see the inside of my sink cabinet. The LED was on at 75%. Even at the lowest setting, it’s not any better so maybe it’s not the LED but the low quality camera lens? If you need to see details, this probably isn’t the endoscope for you. There is no record feature. Yep no way to record the video or take pictures. No SD card slot; no connecting to your phone; nothing for capturing. The feed wire is stiffer than it looks. In many cases this would be a plus. Particularly if you need to reach awkward spot, say somewhere between your engine block and the fire wall, the feed line will retain its shape. Of you’re looking at pipes, it’s a problem. You can see in the video that there’s a 90 degree turn. Camera couldn’t go any farther due to the stiffness of the feed line. On the plus side, this is battery powered and rechargeable via USB-C. During my testing, I plugged the endoscope into a USB power bank and it worked fine. Can’t tell if it was simultaneously charging or not. It came with some accessories but I don’t really understand what they’re supposed to be for. The instruction manual was woefully lacking. Lacks depth indicator. It would have been nice to know how far the endoscope has gone. Other units have either a digital method or they print markings on the feed line. Overall, if you just need a cheapy way to look beyond line-of-sight and you don’t need any details, this is the scope for you. ... show more

  • Inexpensive way to see things around blind corners or find that lost bolt.
I’ve spent a lot of time guessing when I needed to check what was going on behind walls, under fixtures, or in other spots I couldn’t reach with my eyes. If something gets dropped, snagged, or needs a quick inspection, I usually end up improvising. This endoscope made that part a lot easier because it’s straightforward to use and doesn’t require setting up with a phone. For the kind of home and vehicle tasks I do, it’s genuinely helpful. Once I can get the camera into the right area, I can usually confirm whether there’s a clog, damage, or something stuck where it shouldn’t be, instead of tearing things apart right away. The basic controls and adjustable light are enough to make it practical for quick checks. That said, I’m not expecting it to perform like a high-end inspection camera. The image quality is fine for locating what’s there, but it won’t give super crisp detail in every situation. Bright lighting and glare can make it harder to see fine stuff, and it’s not designed for recording since it doesn’t save video or photos. Also, the cable can be a little awkward in the tightest spaces, so you sometimes have to work with it a bit to get the view you want. Overall, my take is that it’s a decent budget tool. It does what I bought it for—help me see into places I normally can’t—without being complicated or expensive. ... show more
