  • A purchase you won't regret
Color: White Size: Twin (39x79in) Style: Standard with Cover (Gray)
My only regret is not purchasing this sooner. I've been contemplating purchasing one of these for a while to replace the improvised collection of mattress topper + blankets I sometimes use when I want to sleep in front of the TV in the cooler basement during the summer. I actually ended up taking this with me on an extended trip (I also bought the Andacar carrying bag to go with it), where I've been happily using it as a bed for a few weeks. It's currently sitting on top of a cheap $20 air mattress (in place of a real Tatami mat), and this combination is more comfortable than my regular mattress at home. It is also highly portable (car-portable, not hiking-portable), whether using it for yourself on a road trip, or as an additional guest bed. In short, this is suitable as your primary bed, a guest bed, or a road-trip bed. Just be sure to get a carrying case for travel/longer-term storage. You will need a soft surface or mat to put it on (carpet alone is not enough), with a cheap air mattress (which is never comfortable on it's own) filling that role perfectly. ... show more

  • Amazing comfort
Color: White Size: Twin (39x79in) Style: Standard with Cover (Gray)
I am so happy with this mattress. Last night was my first night using this mattress and I can honestly say its the best sleep I have had in the last 5 years. I have been sleeping on the floor for a few years now due to a back injury. I used a thick yoga mat and folded over duvet as my bed. Now I feel like a queen sleeping on a cloud :)). It took me a while to do some research as I knew I wanted to upgrade my sleeping space. I came across this company and it felt like the right choice for me. Hope this helps. ... show more

  • Fix back problems & easy to move
Color: White Size: Full (55x79in) Style: Standard with Cover (Gray)
I move a lot. I've moved from AZ->WA->OR->WA->MA->CO And I'm probably going to keep moving. Selling mattresses is a pain in the butt. Throwing mattresses is a pain in the butt or even potentially illegal depending on where you live (You may have to dispose of them properly). And moving them is a pain in a butt. Also if you don't splurge they hurt your back. This futon has finally fixed both of these problems. It's easy to move. And I no longer have back issues. It's also just comfy. It's a little weird for a week, then you love it. I'm never looking back. Also I haven't had any cleaning issues. I apply a lot of layers/comforters so the core futon stays clean. ... show more

  • A little too compressible for me, but still a very nice shikifuton.
Color: White Size: Queen (63x79in) Style: Standard with Cover (Gray)
I was looking for a replacement to our latex mattress which is a bit too soft for me and my wife. We got it during the pandemic and it was nice. I knew we should have returned it right away as it was already a bit too soft for us. But the mattress company doesn’t take returns, they wanted us to just throw away the old mattress and show it in the trash and they would send us a new firmer one. I felt that was a waste of landfill space and opted not to get the firmer mattress. So here we are 2 years later and the old latex mattress is just a bit too soft for my wife and cannot sleep on her back or else she will wake up with back pain. So I found this along with other Made In Japan Shikifuton mattresses or pad, and was really interested in it. My wife and I have traveled to Japan before and had slept in a very traditional ryokan or Japanese inn, and were quite comfortable sleeping on the floor on the futon. So I went for it and bought this one, it was quite a bit more expensive than that next one, but it is a true queen size. I also liked the construction of it, not too heavy or light. It came in a plastic vacuum packed bag, which was then nicely wrapped in one of those brown fiber paper bag material. Inside the bag was the shikifuton’s fitted sheet, light gray in color. Nicely sewn no loose threads. Once the bag was opened the futon immediately started to puff up and expand. It had just a hint of of the foam smell but after about 5-10 minutes it had dissipated and was gone. I will say that I also had the sliding door open to get rid of the smell a bit. It also had an initial dampness to the futon, but after the smell was gone the dampness was gone as well. My wife really loves this futon and she sleeps so very soundly on it, but she also likes to sleep on the floor. So this is just heaven for her. As for me I do prefer a bit more cushioning, but I’m a bit bigger and much heavier than my wife, 5’10”, 210lbs. So it is a bit of an adjustment for me, but sleeping better. So my wife is more the average size of a typical Japanese person 5’2” 130 lbs. I will say there is a bit of a break in period for your body if you are not used to a more firm mattress. Also depends what you are putting the futon on as the underlayment. I made a make shift tatami mat of two IKEA childrens sleeping pads and then two ply korean floor mats to raise us off the concrete and carpet for now. I have not replaced the old mattress we were using and we are currently sleeping in the living room floor. Now it is only the second night we have slept on it and so far so good. I do wake up a bit stiff and sore as I’m a side sleeper. So I have opted for a taller pillow, to make up for the extra firmness in the futon and I think I might have found the right combo of pillows. Now just a few more nights to get my fat body used to the firmness. But I don’t wake up feeling like I slept in a hammock. ... show more

  • Very very costly.
Color: White Size: Full (55x79in) Style: Standard with Cover (Gray)
Product is awesome quality wise but I didn't get any relief in my back pain while using it directly over the floor. Also, very very costly compared other mattresses.

  • Absolutely floored.
Color: White Size: Full (55x79in) Style: Standard with Cover (Gray)
The ability to just bundle up your bed and toss it in the closet for more space is exactly what I was looking for. The fact that it's incredibly comfortable is a massive plus.

  • A $300 sleeping bag
Color: White Size: Queen (63x79in) Style: Standard with Cover (Gray)
How much money would you spend on the nicest sleeping bag? You know the kind of bags from REI? Me, probably $75. $100 if you are fancy. If you purchase this, you will have spent $300 on a sleeping bag. Really, $300 for the comfort and quality of a child’s sleepover solution. This thing is the equivalent of sleeping on the floor. I had this on top of a foam topper and still woke up with my ribs and lungs hurting very bad. Had to massage the pain out. Please make a good economic decision and keep your $300 in your pocket. Or take $50 of it and purchase something similar to this. And the futon “cover” is a joke. It’s a sheet. ... show more
